Overall good quality. It’s quite heavy, when totally empty it weighs as much as my BDS tactical day pack stuffed generously with my daily junk like a change of clothes, pens, notebooks, multitool etc. weight aside, the features are pretty cool. It’s laid out well & the soft insides mean I can attach velcro backed pouches to the inner walls. I’m nearly 6’5” & a barrel-chested 280lbs so I had to adjust the straps out to their limit for a comfortable fit, at my size, the sternum strap is useless as it sits right below my Adam’s apple & wouldn’t be comfortable or useful. Luckily the waist strap is fully removable, one of the features that made me take a chance on this pack. The lycra-ish side pockets are skinnier than the seem in the photos. They’re stretchy but will not fit a nalgene style 32oz water bottle, though they’d be perfect for smaller factory-bottled water. There is a semi-rigid backplate behind the back padding made of some kind of thermoplastic, it adds to the overall weight, though it’s thin & semi flexible but feels awkward to me. It’s supposed to be removable, as a velcro flap inside opens up to expose the top of the panel. Only problem is that the tombstone-shaped semi-rigid panel is so tight in its integral sleeve that I’m worried if I pull with too much force that I’ll damage the stitching and fabric that’s supposed to keep it secure. If Condor would have put elastic at the top of the backpanel pocket, the panel would pop right out & back in as needed, but there is no flex or give in the fabric they used. It’s almost like they inserted the plastic panel in its pocket then sewed tightly around the sides to ensure it moves very little. A plus is that if you carry a laptop around, it’s between some thick padding and a rigid panel (w/ soft cloth on the outside) that should protect it very well. The thin webbing panel on the front works well so far for attaching molle gear. Time will tell if it’s as durable as the thicker, individually sewn molle loops you see on lots of gear. All in all this is a very feature-rich pack (almost too many zippers & straps & flaps for me) that is a good deal, on sale or at the regular price. It works well with both external molle pouches and internal hook & loop backed pouches that stick to the inner walls. This is a great pack that will work well for many people, it’s just not a perfect bag for me.
