An essential piece of desert combat gear, the Condor Shemagh boasts a multi-functional, lightweight design that can be worn in a variety of climates. Originally designed to protect wearers from sun exposure and sand particles, this shemagh's resilient and ultra-durable cotton construction serves to provide cover from wind, snow and dust as well. This face mask is built from 100% cotton to promote breathability in arid or windy climates. Its ample size can accommodate any wearer and allows for varying levels of ventilation based on the method of tying used to secure it. Because of its adaptability and lightweight material, it can be used in desert climates or when dealing with hot-weather terrain.

The cotton is very thin and the colors are very bright which is nice but you do have to hand wash it. The product does bleed. Since the cotton thin, (when doing my first hand wash), as you can see in the picture. The threading started have small holes forming.

Colors blend together A LOT. Stunk like mildew, so I hand washed it in the sink... glad I did. Color/dye came pouring out of the fabric. For the price I kept it, not worth the hassle of sending back. Condor needs to fix these, not up to usual Condor standards at all

i got these shemaghs in the summer and wore two of them loose and bulky around my neck while in the woods at night while moving and standing (hours at a time). their feel is surprisingly warm and bulky and soft and luxurious and I was glad to have two of them on @ around 03:00. I prefer to wear them in the traditional way of my wool scarfs-- AROUND MY NECK-- - --NOT ON TOP OF MY HEAD--(I have a hat).
poly cotton bdu's and these scarves were all the camping gear I needed at this season (summer) be entirely comfortable.
at night...in the forests. the gauzy almost see-through light weave is quite complementary to the multicam and a-tacs fg with respects to the colors and patterns. I got FOLIAGE GREEN AND OD GREEN . I LIKE 'EM.
when I stash them I cannot tell there are even on me. (clue: do not load them up with sweat, you will like them dry.)

I have a problem with wool and so this was perfect for me. I am not in a desert environment but I found it a great addition to my down jacket and it is large enough to wear completely over your head or just around your neck. There are a number of videos on line that show you how to tie the Shemagh properly for either use.

I am devoted trail rider, but in Florida mean can mean insect attacks and a whole lot of hot. I soak it down before I get in the saddle, it keeps me cool, keeps the sun off of my neck and sometimes keeps me from inhaling or eating bugs. Filled with ice and wrapped around a horse's throatlatch, they can also help cool off a horse in an emergency.

I bought 2 of these Shemagh, there is no funky smells, they feel and ware good, the only reason for 4 stars is the sizes are 4 inches off. I called to send them back but while looking for other types found that most if not all are sized less than advertised and some not even square. So these are just fine and will serve my needs for any and all conditions, head and face wrap.

I bought this for a few reasons. One being the current covid-19 mask requirements, I can simply do a simple face wrap when I need to go in stores or out in public. I work in a hospital and am required to wear a medical face mask all day and it's hard on the ears and nose so it's nice to wear something more comfortable the rest of the time. I also spend a good amount of time in the woods with my dog and something that I can wrap over my hair to prevent ticks is also important. I have a feeling come next winter I will also use it to wrap around my neck inside my winter coat to help keep the cold winds out.

I got these for my guy, because he's ex-military and (i) doesn't like the conventional scarves and (ii) Likes the whole tactical look.
So these are perfect for him, and its great for the cold seasons. Keeps him warm while maintaining that "Badass" look.

We're very happy with the purchase

When I first opened up the Shemagh I found the material to be thin. I decided to wash it based on several other comments from others. To my surprise, it took six bucket changes before the majority of dye came out. It's warm here in New England so I can't comment on its insulating capabilites but I would imagine with all of the wraps around your neck and head that it would serve its purpose. I have never owned one before and maybe the material is supposed to be thin. All in all, you can't go wrong for the price.

Wore this to the range the first time I got it out. Kept the sun off my neck and ear, which was why I purchased it, and it was actually cooler than other things I have worn for the same purpose. Shrunk a bit and doesn’t hold its original size and shape from new out of the box but may be able to iron it next time and see what happens. Material is woven so it is stretchy, which I like too. Very satisfied.
