I purchased the Galco ankle holster without the strap and it worked well but tends to work down to your shoe while you are walking. The calf strap gives that little bit of extra support to keep the holster where you want it and is so comfortable you forget it is there.

Good product. Needs to be a little shorter adjustment from calf strap to holster strap, but just takes a small amount of altering with scissors and sewing machine. Overall....very nice
