The Maxpedition Noatak Gearslinger delivers a durable exterior and highly functional design. The 1,000 denier nylon fabric has an extra layer of protection thanks to a DuPont Teflon treatment that guards against grime and a triple polyurethane coating for superior water protection. When worn on the back, this bag can be rotated 270 degrees towards the front of the body for quick and easy access to contents, an especially useful design feature when sitting down. The front sleeve has an anti-theft device on its zipper, while an exterior water bottle pocket is sized to hold bottles up to 32 ounces. Stitched with high tensile strength nylon thread and with reinforced stitching at high stress points, this durable backpack is built to hold up in tough conditions.

The bag is a perfect design for a day or light overnight, theouter most pocket allows for easy frequent use, so I keep a cell wallet and keys in there. This is not my first maxpedition, I had a backpack for years until my dog got hold of one of the shoulder straps. I put that pack through the ringer. With that said after 4 times of using this pack the top handle started to tear away on both sides. I contacted customer service they agree that it sounded defective. they are sending me a return label and new bag. what a great company to deal with. Also, i found no better price on the internet.Thank you.

I just purchased this Maxpedition Noatak Gearslingerfor use as a versatile daypack and bicycle bag. It's made of a very rugged Cordura nylon, and has a large number of pockets and compartments for stashing anything from a pen to a small laptop- I can slide my ASUS Eee Netbookinto the compartment behind the padded pack, and there's still plenty of room for the charger, books, raincoat, etc. That same compartment can also be used for a water bladder, and there are straps all along the padded sling where a drinking hose can be snaked.

One feature that attracted me to this design was the single sling that goes over the shoulder. This is more stable on a bicycle (or walking) than the usual two-strap design, and it allows you to rotate the pack around in front of you for access without the need to remove it. I have a Lowepro camera bag (the Lowepro SlingShot 202 AW) that works this way and I find it far more convenient and comfortable than any of my other bags. I find I can easily store one of my pocket cameras in the Noatak, and with the addition of a padded inner bag, I can carry a digital SLR safely as well.

I've had this bag for about 3 months and it is the best bare essentials pack I've had. With its organization pockets it makes things easier to get to while sitting down or while on the move because it slings to the front. No more take off, set on ground to look for passports kind of thing.

I have taken it when I'm at disneyland or just walking in the aquariums and its "Zipper lock cord" system is a nice confidence builder when carring your items. If someone is tampering with your pack they will have to work to unzip your pack (every second counts ;-)). Adding the 32 oz bottle holder is a great plus when doing active biking or walking.

What I love about it is how comfortable it is to wear and if the shoulder is a little sore just attach the stabilizer strap and it helps take off a little pressure off the shoulder for those longer than usual hikes.

In the main compartment it can hold a Dell Mini (inside a padded sleeve) with power cord, and note pads that are 9 3/4 in by 7 1/2 in.

Love this bag and I use it every day.

Great bag, perfect for my needs, very modular so I can customize it to my liking. I got it as a warm weather carry bag that I could sling over shoulder because I didn't want anything too large. It is very roomy without being overly bulky. I added some velcro and molle type pouches and pockets to carry a variety of things that I couldn't carry in a jacket. It can serve as short term bug-out bag if needed. Great product.

I bought this bag to take back and forth to work to carry a water bottle, lunch, and a few EDC items. For that purpose it works great and I give it a 5. I took it on a 4 mile hike just to test it out and I have to confess it was uncomfortable to cary due to the single strap design. For this purpose I would give it a 2.

I do not recommend this bag for long hikes but like I said it's great for EDC.

Wasn't sure at first, butt after some adjustments, it works great for me and what I carry. Lov this set up and how fast you can get it together for the next day. Plenty of room for any size CCW. And if u did know it was there no one else will. Looks and feels good. Great product, friends and family members like to and ask where I got it.. Thanks

Perfect for around town, Cary just what you need, plus a little extra. The best part, the pouch for the water bottle, a must, not sure why other models and brands leave this out.
The only complaint, the top pouch wast left out, replaced by shok cord, unlike the Malaga that has one.

I have had this bag for a 5 years and I still carry it everyday! It's a great bag to take around for the day the strap that clips in the front of the bag can carry an extra jacket or hoodie, you have plenty of room for a small point and shoot camera my 10 inch tablet fits in the bag as well. This may be the last bag I will ever have to buy.

Great pack, this my first gearslinger from Maxpedition. I did a lot of research online and thought this would be good as a day pack. I was a little wrong there but this is still and excellent pack, highly recommended. I have now learnt that Maxpedition gear is a little on the small side.
