The boot worn by the world’s leading public safety personnel, the 5.11 A.T.A.C., just got promoted. It’s lighter and more comfortable, yet maintains its reputation for toughness and durability. A new flow tongue and full-length durometer Ortholite footbed work to keep your feet cool, dry and comfortable all day. Another new feature, the Achilles heel flex zone, gives a critical part of your foot more range of motion without compromising support. The full grain leather toe, 840D nylon upper and shock mitigation system provide the kind of rugged protection you need; while the knife pocket keeps an important ally within reach.

I’ve been in law enforcement and corrections for 15 years now and these are the boots for me. I got my first pair of these after a friends referral of them and they have exceeded my expectations ever since. They are both light weight and durable. They’ve carried me through 5 mile runs, countless concrete and steel cellblocks and stairs, and plenty of foot pursuits. I’ve gotten anywhere between 2 and 5 years of heavy wear out of them each time, including one pair I bought for non-duty use that I never took care of at all that I am just tossing out on year 5 because I blew out the toe finally (picture included). I recommend these to anyone and everyone who will listen, and have converted 4 people to them so far with no complaints. I love these boots, and plan to continue buying them as long as I need good duty boots.

This is the first pair of tactical boots I have had. I wanted a side zipper because I build homes. Often I am in the mud and then need to go inside a home, so the boots have to come off. Although there is a size zipper, the boots are a bit snug getting them off. The more I wear them, the better this seems to be. They also seem to be just a little (but not much) on the short side to me. Overall, I like them. They look rugged (and I have no reason to believe they are not). They are comfortable. Other than the deep tread on the sole (which picks up and holds mud), There is nothing I would change on them.

I've been wearing 511 boots over 10 years with my fire department, and they are "the best boots ever! My co-workers have all tried Bates, Red Wing, Caterpillar, Red Head, and every boots known to man and have been very unhappy with their performance. Not anymore, now the whole department is wearing 511's and loving them because of me. The comfort, style, and durability have won them over big time. Some of the guys (including me) have a second pair of 511's for off duty wear as well. Great boots, great price!

My 1st pair of 511 boots were 11w and were actually wide. The 2nd pair i purchased were also 11w, but not cut as wide, but wearable. Now these 11w i just purchased are cut even smaller.
I cannot find anyone who makes a boot wide enough for my fat foot, and I've tried them all. 511 was my go to for this reason. Now they are cut smaller. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Like I said before, great boot. Lighter than the original ATAC 5.11. Feels good right out of the box. I'm OCD so you know I have more than a single pair of boots. These are now my favorites. Light weight, good support, well built. I Like!!!!

The boots arrived fast, which is a plus!
Also, they were very comfortable to wear. In my line of work, I spend a lot of time standing, and These did just the trick!
I’ll still keep and eye for wear and tear, but I think that won’t be an issue.

My husband wore the boots three times and the leather faded (to white) and cracked. He cannot wear them on his job with white cracked leather. I am very disappointed that after three eight hour shifts these boots are not wearable onhis job.

Bought these boots for my new job at a detention center. Wore them for about three days and thats all I needed to break them in. They are true to size and extremely comfortable. Would recommended, especially for men with wide feet.

This is a VERY comfortable, good looking, lightweight boot. I’ve had them for a week and so far I REALLY like them! Probably should have ordered 2 pair.....

I have been wearing 9 wide boots for some time. But the 9 wide I ordered from you, was considerably shorter than any 9 I have purchased.
