The boot worn by the world’s leading public safety personnel in an 8” height with 5.11’s SlipStream waterproof / breathable and bloodborne pathogen resistant membrane, the 5.11 A.T.A.C. 2.0. It’s lighter and more comfortable, yet maintains its reputation for toughness and durability. A full-length dual durometer Ortholite footbed work to keep your feet cool, dry and comfortable all day, every day. Another new feature, the Achilles heel flex zone, gives a critical part of your foot more range of motion without compromising support. The roughed out suede toe, 840D nylon upper and Shock Mitigation System provide the kind of rugged protection you need; while the knife pocket keeps an important ally within reach.

Boot usage: I'm an EMT/Security officer at a hospital. I work 36-72 hrs/wk; I wear boots for about 15 hours a day. Initial impressions: They look great in the box. Build quality looks decent. Not too heavy or bulky, which is a problem when wearing size 14 boots. They felt true to size. My foot is a 14, flat-ish, not too-wide, not too-narrow either. However, as soon as I tried to put them on..I found out that the 'side-zip' feature does not open up anywhere wide enough to get the boots on quicker than a regular boot. In fact my current lace-up boots, the HAIX Airpower, are not only a lot quicker to put on, I can do so standing up and without even touching the boots. I found that it took both hands and pulling on the pull strap at the back of the boot along with pushing my foot in to get it on. Once on, zipped up, I laced up the boots to what I felt was good. I walked around my living room and the second flaw showed itself immediately. There are not enough lace holes across the top of the foot to give you a secure fit, and the leather on the quarter portion of the boot folds and makes a noise when it returns. Not only that, you felt that leather fold, and the insecure fit. That was the decision maker for me. I un-zipped the boots and tried to take them off. That didn't work..so I had to then fully untie them to get my foot out. It was a lot of work to put them on, and even more to take them off. Once again I want to emphasize that this is NOT a 'Side-Zip' boot; in fact it's worse than a regular lace up boot. That being said- I love 5.11 gear (some not all), but these boots suck.

I am a security officer at a high rise building with two parking terraces and needed a pair of boots. After trying on a lot of boots, this was the only pair that gives me the support I need and fits well.
I have had these boots for two weeks and I have no issues with the boots squeaking or slipping.
This is my first side-zip boot. It does make it easier to get the boot on and off. However, these boots at first can be a little difficult to get on and off; as is the case with all my boots. I know for some a side-zip should be a quick on and off from the beginning, but I didn’t get the right support with other brands.
This brand does it all for me. The side zipper does allow a quicker on and off (after a couple of uses), I get the support my feet need, and I have had no issues with the boots squeaking.
These are good boots and the price is decent.

I have a bad foot from injury and 5.11 is the only boot that I can wear that allows me to walk 6-9 miles on concrete every night 12 hours 7 days a week. Have tried a lot of other brands within 2 weeks I was in pain thank you 5.11

I wear these outdoors drive a shuttle bus at the airport. My feet stay warm and dry and I get great traction in all weather conditions, from dry to rain and the snow and ice we get here.

More aggressive tread, a little stiffer, & a better zipper than my last pair. Last pair are 2 1/2 years old, & still going as my dirty work pair! Hope these last as long!
