Based on one of Bates' most popular designs, the new Tactical Sport line incorporates athletic cement construction to provide a flexible, high-performance fit in a hard-working tactical boot. The leather and nylon upper is ultra-durable, but the lightweight construction makes for a heavy-duty boot with the functionality and breathability of a running shoe. The cushioned midsole and removable insole offer comfort and stability for long days on the job, while the mesh lining promotes ventilation to keep your feet cool. The lightweight design, athletic fit, superior arch and heel support and tactical functionality make the 8" Tactical Sport SZ an ideal universal work boot. This model features a YKK side zipper for convenience.

Didn't think I would like the side zip, but boy, was I wrong. makes it super easy to put on, and these boots are comfortable, like walking on air. And they are super light. I love them! I would definitely recommend these, all damn day long!!!

I just got these boots so I don't know how they will hold up over the long haul. However, at this point I'm very pleased. The fit was true to my size. The construction and quality of materials is great. The side zipper makes it easy to put them on and take them off. They are surprisingly lightweight on my feet. These boots are very comfortable to wear. I don't get that confining feeling with these boots like I've had with others in the past. Can't beat the price either. I've been looking for a pair of these for a while and a lot of them are $150-$200. I bought these to wear when I go shooting in the woods, yard work and for the winter here in the mountains. Definitely recommend!

The boots would get 5 stars if only the tongue would stay in place. It kept moving to the side with both boot. Other than the tongue they are great boots.

I bought these for my husband Pat. He already had a pair of these (can't remember where they were purchased) and wanted another pair. Your website had the best price and ordering was easy. He states they are not only comfortable, he has walked through water with them and so far, they are waterproof, even with the breathable sides. He is a very "picky" man, so when he said he wanted another pair, I knew they had to be quality made. He uses them for just about everything including hiking and riding his motorcycle. They are also lighter than his other boots, which is a bonus. If you are looking for an all purpose boot that will last, get these.

I am typically skeptical of anyone who takes the time and thought to put together and send in a review to websites for their latest purchase. So, to say I don't review most of my purchases would be an understatement. But Bates boots, with all their online praise, caught my attention and, since I needed a solid pair of work boots anyway, I bought some.
Bottom line: they deserve every single positive review and line of praise given.
I work on my feet all day and they support and cushion every step. Even up and down stairs, the occasional run from here to there, my feet and back are comfortable and well taken care of in these boots. A superior product.

I work 12 hour shifts as a security officer at a local hospital and needed to replace my worn out cheaper tactical boots. I also have Plantar Fasciitis so with replacing the boot insoles with my custom orthotic arch supports, I have a winnng combo, next to no foot pain at all. This boot is a quality product and my first pair will definitely not be my last. Only suggestion would be for Bates to aldd a loop on the collar to aid in pulling it on, otherwise, a top notch comfortable product.

I have another pair without the side zipper.I like those too, but being a senior citizen I find the zipper ones easier to get on. The thing I dislike, is the padded collar. It sometimes cuts off the circulation, and gets a little sweaty .They don't seem to breathe through the material. And those plastic speed lace things, they could have done without. Just make holes all the way up. That hook thing in the middle of the boot bites into your ankle until they're broken in. Once they're broken in,then they're pretty good.

I've worn Bates Durashock boots for years and haven't had any issues with them at all. When it came time to replace them, I decided to try the Tactical Sport so I ordered the TS based on the sizing of my Durashock's. Apparently Bates doesn't use the same size molds for all of their different style boots. I had to return the TS because it was far to narrow even in Wide width.

My husband said they were comfortable right away. He walks a lot of miles on a concrete floor for 6-8 hours with arthritis and a very bad hip that needs replaced which he is not ready to do yet. Compared to what he was wearing and considering his health issues, these boots support his ankles and help with the pain for a good 6 hours. His feet do not bother him so that is why I gave it 5 stars. He has only had the boots for 2 weeks though.

Perfect boots for security and law enforcement. Lightweight, comfortable and slip resistant. Didn’t need to break them in. Fit right from the beginning. My feet and legs don’t hurt at the end of the day and I don’t slip when it’s raining or I step in a puddle. Best shoes for standing guard, patrolling or chasing down criminals and suspects. Looked everywhere for a pair of boots that I could rely on and I’m glad I stumbled upon Bates.
