These boots were recommended in 2003 by a 1SG who'd been in Iraq as the most durable and comfortable boots. After over 7 years of wearing these boots in both theaters of the GWoT I can definitely say that these are the most comfortable boots I've worn in over 20 years of service. The soles on these boots will outlast most of the competitors. I've replaced them only because when they get oil and grease on them they're unfit for garrison. Otherwise, I've worn out the soles on three pairs without having the sole separate from the boot or any kind of delamination or other problems associated with competitor's boots.
As to comfort, these beat the heck out of the competition in helping to keep my feet cushioned against shock reducing heat transmission through the boot to the foot. About the only thing I'd wish for is a little more lateral stiffness to protect the ankle from torsion during airborne/Air Assault (particularly fast roping) operations. Another 'nice to have' would be reinforcements similar to those on the TR line of boots.

These boots hurt quite a bit for the first 2-3 days I worn them, due to the fact this is the first time in 3-4 years I've worn issued styled boots, but after the first week they became more comfortable than my nikes and bates I have been wearing. They do great in the field offering great support and durability. Also they clean up nicely. Most don't think about that but getting out of the field Friday and knowing you have Monday in ranks inspection, it's pretty nice knowing that these boots clean up and look good fast even after being covered in mud and god knows what else. Only down side is even though they are one of the only boots that come in narrow width, when I lace them up the eyelets still over lap each other due to my narrow feet.

I never had a pair of Belleville boots. I now have a pair of really wide feet and I was not sure about the recommendation to go a size smaller. So I went ahead and took the plunge and ordered a 6 1/2 extra wide. With the orthotics I have to wear, they turned out to be a perfect fit for me. It was almost like I had been wearing them a couple of years. I like the Vibram sole construction also. I think they will be more durable than another brand of boots I had been using for many years. I used to have a pair of backpacking boots that had a Vibram sole and they had lasted for at least 20 years. If I have to get another pair in the future, I will definitely buy another pair of Belleville's. So far I am really happy with these.

First off, these boots fit well, but there seems to be a problem with the right ankle. I think it has to do with the tongue being folded in just right before I lace them up, otherwise it chafes me around the ankle, and it hurts. I found that they need to be broken in before they become really comfortable.

Also, it's well worth removing the insoles and buying a replacement pair of much better quality. It will make them much more comfortable when standing or walking for long periods of time.

I am reading how all of you people are complaining how these boots don't fit right when ordered, and this is because all boots run on a different sizing chart than shoes because of the material layers and dimensions of boots are so much more thicker made than shoes. Boots are ALWAYS going to be a half size smaller than shoe size because like I said its a different sizing chart based upon the construction process of boots versus shoes. So for my experience I started buying boots when I was 10 and quickly found that they are a half size smaller no matter what than shoes. I am 14 and am a size 11.5 R in sneakers and in boots am a size 11.0 W so if you are looking for a pair of boots get a half size smaller than your sneaker size and I recomend getting a Pair of Belleville boots because these boots are the best made brand of of all boots out there and with proper every day care and weekly cleaning your Belleville's will last YEARS!!!

When you hear Belleville, you think quality. This boot is USA made, with a broken in feel right out of the box. A great temperate climate boot, these can be worn all year with the right socks and sock liners. Definitely order a full size down from what you normally wear, I wear a 10.5W and ordered a 9.5W and they fit perfect. Just enough wiggle room. Last, the price. This boot is in a price range that makes it affordable.

I bought these boots after a bad experience with my favorite shoe company. A pair of boots that lasted only 11 months before coming apart. The Bellevilles are cheaper than those, and made of leather. I was leery of the instructions, but ordered 10EEE for 11EEE and waited. When I tried them on the fit was perfect. Roomy, supportive, totally comfortable. I walk all night stocking a store and the boots felt good all night. Just remains to be seen how long they will last. But, since they're made for military use, I have good hopes. BTW, I received these boots in 5 days. Five days.

nice boot for the price, light, comfortable, sizing is as stated by many others, these boots run big. get a size down from your regular boot. I take a 12 extra wide 4e logging boot. Belleville size 11 extra wide is what I ordered. if you wear a extra wide boot normally, order these boots in extra wide for toe room. the standard wide size would not of been big enough for me. wear two pair of thick socks with these boots for comfort. This site is always the best for military type clothing, boots, fast service.

First off the boots run half a size larger so example if your a 8.5 like me but a 8. Also it gives you 4 choices for the width of the boot don't know why but I think it should be narrow , regular , and wide but it's narrow,medium,wide,and extra wide. I bought the medium because when you hear wide you think your foot is regular size well its not I received the boots medium as ordered and we're quite narrow regular width I belive for any normal man's foot is a wide

Definitely having trouble with the sizing. I wear shoe size 11, sometimes 10.5 wide. I ordered size 10 regular and they felt too big. Returned them with no problems ( I didn't use them or remove the tags). I then ordered 9.5 because I can't believe I would need a 9. They felt ok so I wore them for a few hours, still too big. Hopefully I can find a friend that will buy them so I can order some size 9. Other than the size problem they seem really nice.
