If you plan to wear heavy socks with the boot, order a half to full size larger. I ordered my regular size and it's a little snug but not tight with a medium weight wool sock. The boot is comfortable without any break-in and sliding them on and off is easy. I have only worn them in snow and cold, 10 degrees and above, and found them able to keep my feet warm and dry. I'm not sure what comfort rated means, but I question the -40 degree rating based on my experience of walking in boot-high snow at 10 degrees. My feet stayed warm but I could feel the cold enveloping them. The tread design allows snow to stay entrapped on the bottom of the boot so when going from a snowy surface to a hard surface such as ice or wood, they tend to slide so you need to kick the snow clear. The quality seems solid in materials and construction but time will tell. These boots serve my purpose in the Maine winter climate so I am happy with them and would order them again.
