For the ultimate choice in functional, all-terrain hiking performance, Lowa offers the Renegade GTX Mid. This lightweight boot can handle long hikes on rigorous terrain with ease thanks to the Monowrap frame construction that lends much-needed lateral arch support and stability for a secure fit. The Nubuck leather upper is durable and naturally water-resistant and an inner GORE-TEX lining keeps your feet dry in wet conditions. There is a climate control footbed that promotes ventilation and dries quickly to reduce excess moisture within the boot. It also features a nylon shank for support and a derby-style lacing system for ankle security and convenience.

This boot goes beyond what it is categorized in. I used a pair of these on a weekend trip in Mongahelea state park in West Virginia towards the end of winter. Their were places where the snow came up to your knees but the sun had been out many days before that so the trail was flooded everywhere. My feet stayed totally dry while my buddy griped the whole time about his soaked feet. They also prevented many twisted ankles with the many many rocks that were on the trail and though the traction has worn out a little, over the years they have lasted, they still held when I had to go up steep snow covered hills. I think the ankle support could get better but then again these aren't meant for serious backpacking. I was very pleased with these and may have to buy another pair of these.

Over 8 years this is my fourth set of LOWA Renegades. New out-of-the-box I wore them today in a light LA rain and by time I got to the office my socks were soaked. Before, I could stand in a stream and my feet wouldn't get wet.

Did they forget the waterproofing cycle?

Pleased with the boot fit and Tatical Gear's service.

This is my fifth pair of this same style. Most comfortable boot out there!!! I immediately put a rigid sole support in them because my feet usually hurt after being on them all day. Originally purchased these after looking at many others to hike rim to rim in the Grand Canyon for a week. We all carried about 40 lbs of gear to stay the week. I was surprised at the comfort in that terrain. Since then I have used them to work in and could only request that the stitching on the outside be beefed up. On the edge right at the ball of my foot, they always begin to rip apart. This is after about nine months but it is consistently there on each pair.

I purchased these as all-purpose outdoor shoes for hiking and working. They're fantastic. After a full day, I barely felt like I'd been on my feet. Will definitely purchase more Lowa boots.

I have worn through one pair of Renegades and just ordered another. I've wore them through Africa, Central America, Madagascar, and India with no problems. Always comfortable and always waterproof. I like the way they come off without then need to loosen the laces and slip on easily. I can't afford sore feet. Padded sole inserts might be advisable.

Found my very hard to find size (14N) here and couldn't be happier. Stiffest sole I have found and they feel so solid and stable. Not a single blemish...outstanding quality.
