Ascending and Descending is excellent in comfort.
However, the interior "Faux" trim is very uncomfortable to the ankle when traversing a mountain with +10* incline.
Rocky should have used Leather (much softer and breaks in) instead of the stiff fabric used in this product.
If not for that, I would have rated this boot much higher.
The grip is excellent with the exception that it clogs up with mud and doesn't clean up easy.
The Lacing system is very poor as the "delta" shaped grommet makes cinching up difficult.
I'm tempted to eliminate it altogether or simply cut a hole instead of its place.
Based on my rating criteria, I give this product a 50% vs 100% rating for excellence.

I recently wrote a review for this product and forgot to mention a specific on the sizing...
I ordered it in a "wide" but it was NOT made wide, even though the label said so.
Rocky really needs to improve on this important characteristic if they want to keep selling shoes.
However, the "length" size WAS correct.

I'm very displeased with these boots. The material is all wrong, and it feels and looks as durable as bloody plastic. Also I ordered them in Wide and they are definitely not so, it felt like my foot was entering a trash compactor. Definitely returning these.

Decent boots, but they run very narrow, leather looks cheap, and they are very loose at the top of the ankle when laced. They are waterproof; but water would certainly enter from the top of the boot. I returned them and got some Oakley's.

Good thing is these boots are very comfortable. They are more comfortable than any sneakers I have owned in the last 15 years, and I've owned several dozen. These boots can run narrow, but a 13 wide ended up being perfect for me. They also can get hot, so if the temperature gets above 50 degrees, I might have to go with something else. this is a perfect cold weather boot.

I bought a pair last year for the winter and work. They've held up pretty well, very comfortable right out the box, the only thing is the stitching where the leather joins near the laces and the toe needed resewing, other than that I've changed is the laces. These boots are my daily wear so I've put many miles on them and still going.

Really nice boot. I was impressed that they felt that I had worn them forever! Very pleased with this purchase.

I've bought these twice. Boots are comfortable like wearing sneakers. I wear orthotics and use them instead of the inserts that come with the boots makes no difference. They're light too.

For a $90 boot,It's a great value. If you wanted all the features you are asking for, buy up in their line and get them.

I like these boots, well made, nice tread pattern. They do run a little narrow, but I think they will break-in okay.
