The Tactical Research 6" Khyber duty boot provides optimal heel support and comfort. Featuring a soft EVA midsole and breathable air mesh lining, these boots will keep your feet cool and comfortable during long shifts and in hot climates. The unique Vibram Ibex outsole delivers excellent traction on rugged terrain, while the TR-1 orthotic insole holds up under the weight of heavy loads. Sharply angled lugs and a defined heel deliver phenomenal traction to boost your agility, and the rappelling bars along the outsole create long-lasting wear. When you have challenging work to do, you can count on these boots to keep your feet comfortable until the job is done.

The boot is heavier than I anticipated, but is still feels lighter than the Red Wings I was wearing. Tactical Gear's sizing guide recommends order a full size smaller than what you would normally wear, but I disagree & suggest you should order a half size down @ the most. My foot measures out @ 9-1/2 EEE, so I usually order 10 in a W or EW if an EEE isn't available. Going off of the Sizing Guide, I ordered a 9 EW. The boot is comfortable, but riding the line @ too snug. Have worn them for a couple of 8 hour shifts, plus to & from work, including around the house to break them in. Did not have the usual aches & pains that I'm used to. So far, so good.

Nice boot but it only works with the Khyber insert. Otherwise the sole is too flexible. It really needs a 3/4 length shank to protect your foot from sharp rocks... and to avoid Planter Fasciitis.

I do recommend it with the Khyber insert which compensates somewhat for the missing shank. The regular insert is not functional.

I do Property Restoration work (ie, fire, flood, mold, and storm restoration). We have to be prepared to work 24/7 and work long shifts (12-18 hours).

This boot eliminated the back pain i experienced while working long shifts. It is literally the MOST COMFORTABLE and supportive type of footwear that i own (even better than running shoes). My feet do not get tired even when I am on concrete.

I always try to influence my employees to purchase these boots because of their comfort and quality. It is awesome to see the expression on their face after they do buy the boot. It is even better to rub it in that you were right... ;-)

First of all I'm not a big fan of any black clothing wear. I had to have a pair of black boots for work and MG had these on sale. So I figured I would get by with what I needed and save some money. I was wrong these are the best boots I think I ever owned. I can stand in them all day and my feet don't hurt. They are light weight. No break in time. All I can say is thanks to TR for a great boot and MG for the great sales and service.

These boots are the Law Enforcement (LE) version of the Khyber mountain that Military members use. They are a little harder than the mountain version on the top of the boots because of the leather, but there was no break in period. I used them right out of the box to walk in the snow, they had an excellent grip in the slushy/icy snow and they felt great. I strongly recommend those boots to my LE brothers, you will not be disappointed.

Bought these Khyber's about 8 months ago on a whim as a replacement for a beat up pair of Bates. I'm a big guy, and rough on my gear, including footwear. Gotta say, these Khyber's are amazing for the money. I've been known to beat the snot out of a pair of boots in 6 months, but these are holding up extremely well. Very pleased.
