The Propper Tactical Boonie is a lightweight, comfortable hat with breathable materials and features. This hat is made from a polyester/cotton ripstop blend, and is treated with a Durable Water Repellent finish for protection from stains and moisture. Ventilation holes on the side of the hat allow excess heat to escape, keeping you cool and dry in hot conditions. A map pocket on the inside provides a secure storage area for important documents. The chin strap is fully user-adjustable for a comfortable fit. Built with the same fabric as Propper's Tactical Pant, this hat makes an excellent compliment to other lightweight ripstop items.

I would like to say I love it, but, however, it isn’t clear to me as why the sizes are limited to a 7 as the smallest size. Yes, I am a smaller guy and would like to see at least a 6-7/8, which would be perfect for me. Haven’t started wearing the product yet, it was bought for work and had to get it approved.

I like the hats in general because of the hot sun in our desert environment. The constant winds sometimes make the wide brim hats uncontrollable and they tend to leave the head in a flash. The narrower brim had in the light color is great to keep the sun off my balding head and the brim is not such a big airfoil that its easy to keep on the head in the winds that range from 10 to 50 MPH. I wanted a hat that would fold small and keep the sun off my ears and thinning scalp when I do my hikes. This does the job and also has a pocket for a things like emergency cash or blister pads. And with the light color has not been hot. Great value for money.

The Boonie hat is well made and worth the price. Shipping cost was a bit high. The hat comes in a 7 or 7 1/4 and I wear a 7 1/8. The write up said they run a little small so I got the 7 1/4 and it's too big. Not worth trying to return it or I would try a 7.

The overall quality was good. I like the RipStop material. The chin string is cheap and thin. I did like that. And the size was way bigger than the other one i own. Perhaps when i wash it it will shrink.
