Women's 5.11 Taclite Pro Pants Tactical Reviews, Deals, Problems and Guides

I've been in law enforcement for the last 10 years. Like many other women, I have been relegated to the unflattering uncomfortable men's sized pants. I have spent many dollars having large sized men's pants altered at the waist so that I have room for my hips. I have never felt feminine in these pants and would cringe when I had to buy new ones. I was recently moved from a patrol function to a CSI spot which required new utility pants and shirts. I was told by a local retailer that 511 finally had some worthy women's pants that I might be interested in. Looking back, if I could go back and thank that employee I would have recommended her for employee of the year!
The sizing was pretty accurate to my off duty clothing. The only problem I encountered with this pair was when I belted the pants I felt the inseam get more snug. I went up a size and noted I did not have this "inseam" issue. Belted up the pants and low and behold I felt great! I sat down, squatted, kneeled and even practiced some high kicks and found I was in a pair of pants that posed no limitation. After purchased, i showed them off to some of my fellow lady officers and they commented on how flattering the pants were. I have bought every color that 511 has (I wear the pants with polo shirts at work) and have to say this is the best work pant I have EVER worn in my 10 years as a cop. The color has stayed true after several washes and I have not noticed any shrinkage issues. The pants are breathable and allow me to actively work in them. The pants sit nicely on my waist and I do not feel as if I'm wearing "mom jeans (aka high waist)" or "hip huggers (aka low waist pants)." If I was Goldilocks, I would be saying "these are just right!"
Thank you 511 and I hope that other women out there can fall in love with these pants just like I did. I understand that we are all built differently and I appreciate the effort to try to please all women, I just know there will be some that love them and some that are not fans. I work in Rope Access and spend my time on hot roofs. I have used the regular Tactical (cotton) pants for about 2 1/2 years. I love the pockets and features (hip-mounted D-ring and utility strap), but they are heavy and hot, so I wanted to try the Taclite Pro. I do like the Taclite Pro better for what I do b/c they are lighter. They also keep their length when you wash them. The Tactical shrank and were too short on me. I am 5' 4" and 120 lbs. I like my pants slightly snug-fitting and the size 2 work well (in both versions). The Regular was too short in the Tactical, and just right in the Taclite Pro. The only complaint I have about both pants is the elastic waist digs in and is uncomfortable (leaves an imprint) if you wear a harness all day (not as bad with the Taclite Pro), and the knees grip when I squat down, so I have to stand and lift the pants if I'm going to squat. I cannot speak to wear yet on the Taclite Pro, b/c I have only used them once, but the dirt washed out well at least. The Tactical finally wore in one knee (top layer) after 2.5 years of moderate use.

These pants are a little different from the
Propper pants and I love them just as much. They have a lot of interior room and feel great to wear. The fabric is smooth to the touch but accually very durable at the same time . I normally wear Petite but these feel wonderful. Had them
Hemmed up at our local seamstress and good to go. I will surely get another pair after my vacation. 5 star service all the way. Had them on my front door within three days from ordering.

I am 5' 7" 145 pounds with long legs. The size 8 Long fits like they were made for me. I purchased these pants to wear on an upcoming trip to Alaska because I thought they would be comfortable and good for carrying lots of gear. They will work great for that, but in the meantime, I've been wearing them for gardening and for everyday because they're so much more comfortable than jeans. My husband was checking them out and wants a pair too.

I work in a state military prison as a drill instructor and feel you should size up on these. They fit all the curves as they are women's cut. They are also comfortable enough for the 4:30am wake ups and PT sessions. Pockets for all the important stuff. I like the lightweight material that repels light rain and small amounts of water. No swampy butt in these even after a 90* PT run. I have two other pair that are 3 years old and still going strong. No fading and no worn areas rips or tears. Will keep buying more. Worth the price.

These pants came the same day I needed to wear them, so number one, the two day shipping I paid for took three. I usually wear a 12 in women's and always have issues fitting my butt and hips into a pair that fits well in the waist. I had tried on a pair of men's 5.11s and they fit better than I expected but I wanted a women's pair to avoid the high-rise fit I have to put up with in a men's cut. I did not order a size up, I got the 12 and they're a little too tight across my hips. Since I needed them immediately and it doesn't impede my movement I did not exchange and have otherwise been very happy with them. The fit is still comfortable and I don't even need a belt with the waistband. Overall, I'm impressed but I wish they were cut a little curvier since it's a women's pant!

These are great for yard and handy work. The ripstop fabric makes it resilient for bugs, if you have to be on the ground, or simply being in rugged environment. The magazine pockets are great for multi-tools, and the dump pouches in the back gives me a place to hold gloves or rags. A handyman working on my property asked me where he can find pants like these for his job.

-I have worn a pair of these pants for about six weeks straight and they are still like new! Washed them tons of times, spilled on them, you name it! They also DO NOT shrink, and I ended up getting one size larger so the back pockets would have more room (the women's version of the pants is a little tighter cut so the pockets end up being tighter than if you got the men's.) They fit great and are really comfortable. They keep me cool, even in 90 degree 85% humidity weather.
-Keep in mind that the waist has some elasticity, so if you put anything heavy in the pockets, you're going to have to wear a belt.
-I also got the long size, which usually is barely long enough for me, but the 511 long is LONG! and I have a 34 inseam.
Also, the material doesn't seem to retain smells. Which is good considering the smells I encounter on a daily basis...

I have heard (and seen) these pants worn by my co-workers and was excited when the told me that they had women's pants. Unfortunately, they are not really meant for women who have curves of any kind. I even went up a size, just trying to give myself extra room (even though the waist would have been big) and that didn't work. I was bummed. But, if you have fairly narrow hips, these would probably be great for you.

Really well constructed pant. I would've liked them better if they were cut alittle more slim in the leg. Heavy material. I wish I'd ordered a size smaller as they are alittle larger than I would've liked. I washed them after 1st wear to see if they'd shrink a bit and they really didn't. Overall nice well constructed pant. Cut larger than taclite pro which I also purchased.
