Women's Bates 5" Tactical Sport Boots Tactical Reviews, Deals, Problems and Guides

I already own the Bates GTX (both 4" & 8") which have been extremely comfortable & functional, right out of the box. Bought the 5" Tactical Sport to have an extra pair of low boots for the warmer months. The quality is good but the removable insert was paper thin...definitely NOT CUSHIONED as the product details stated...and very uncomfortable. I normally use orthotics on top of whatever inserts are provided, but in this case, I had to replace the Bates inserts with a pair of Dr. Scholl's cushioned. Luckily I have a collection of various types of inserts & orthotics, so I had plenty of choices, but it took me a while to test several different combinations before finding just the right one. Now, after a short break-in period, my feet are happy again. But this was so different from my experience with the other Bates boots, where all I had to do was drop in a heel lift and go, with no break-in period. I've given these 4-stars because I think they're going to work out, but I still have to wear them a bit more to be sure.

I work in corrections and need something comfortable on my feet. My husband, whom also works in corrections, suggested these boots. I`m going to order another pair! My feet are not tired at the end of the day, weather it`s an 8 hour shift or a 16 hour shift.

I love these boots! They are structured and sturdy, and offer a ton of ankle support. They are tough enough for warehouse / job site use (manufacturing / construction), but still look clean enough to wear to dinner or a casual weekend event. I had no issues "breaking them in" because they fit like a dream from day one. The height of these boots make them ideal for wear with jeans, shorts, and even leggings. I would buy these again, no questions asked.

I LOVE this boot! I have problems with plantar facitis and very weak ankles. I just started a job as a corrections officer and these boots felt great the first time I put them on. I have walked 2 miles in one day in them with no discomfort.And they look great! I don't know what I'll do if you guys stop making them because when I need a new pair,these will be what I want. Thanks so much for making something stressful a bit easier for me!

This boots are very comftable, but what really made me happy was CS, I had to call customer service and they were amazing, very nice people, they helped me out picking the right size for me and made sure the shipping were on time. I'd give them 10 ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

This was my first Bates purchase. It is definitely a comfortable boot. I've have a hard time finding a boot with this type of comfort level. Good for long durations of walking/standing. I'm not impressed with the leather. The leather seems cheap. The crease marks in the leather (mid foot from walking) are more noticeable than any other leather boot/shoe I've owned.

I love the style of the boot, the texture seems durable so far. They are easy to slip and off and my feet feel super comfortable in them. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase .

I ordered these boots as a replacement for the pair I currently wear for work and. I love them. They are very comfortable and light. I spoke with customer service and they were great. I should be getting my replacement replacement pair shortly.

I had a pair of these but because of the work I do they wore out faster than expected. I had them for about 2 yrs so it was time for another pair since my feet were getting wet. they're comfortable and waterproof which I like.

I am very disappointed with the quality of this product. I have been working in law enforcement for 18 years and I am a big fan of bate boots since it was the first pair of boots I purchased when I got on the job and the quality from what I recall has always bee. Good quality material. The boots I received looked used. The material from one of the boots is already peeling off and this is my second day wearing these boots for work. The only reason I didn’t return them is because there was no shipping label inside the box it came in. I guess that’s what I get for purchasing low price boots. Very disappointed.
