I did not buy this pack for hunting so had little worry about the fact that rifle carry items are an extra cost in order to use this pack for it's intended market.
All the gear I intended to use with this pack fit with the outside side pockets being stretched a bit tight if normal 1L bottles are used. GI canteen styles are a better fit in these pockets and they do not seem as strained. While the rifle slot will not be used by me, the design/concept still allows a carry location for other long items like an Ax or even skis or possibly some snowshoe designs, even though there may be better ways to carry snowshoes with all the MOLLE available.
The suspension is a bit finicky to get adjusted for my size/load but once done seems to fit well with the pack staying close to your back and the shoulder straps not digging in. The waist belt does seem to be designed for much larger people than I am which I thought was odd as I am not what you would call dainty. I was eventually able to get it cinched up small enough to sit on my hips and carry most of the pack's load, but there is virtually no adjustment left!
I have not been able to carry this pack loaded for any real trips and had to carry it over the miles and hours, but first impressions are promising. Relatively light but rugged enough. Frame and suspension appear to be up to the job for comfort and breathability, and the volume design seems able to carry the required loads with enough MOLLE to possibly add a few things here and there if needed.
If it is able to do all that in the real backpack world rather than up and down the streets of my neighborhood then it will continue to have a place in my pack choices and should get plenty of use. Only time can tell.

This gear caters to soldiers not civilians. Key word there is caters. Meaning anyone can use this gear but if you find the dimensions odd then you should research you items with the targeted consumers in mind. Most people that would use this item as intended will most likely be wearing multiple layers of gear underneath the pack. Please do your research folks before you leave reviews that might discourage people from buying the proper gear. If your not employing tactics and realy you just want to look highspeed then leave a review based on those facts. This is a great bag. I love mine and it meets all of my standards.

Used this pack for the first time this weekend dove hunting in South Texas. I was able to get all my gear in there with to spare. I was very happy with all the space and pocket to organize my trash. I did get the Rush Sleeve and put my shotgun in the pack. All in all I am happy with the purchase and I feel confident this will meet my needs for deer season... both bow and rifle.

I bought this backpack cause the one I had for work was to small to fight all my gear in it. Having a Rain coat and a thermal undershirt, and a davidclark headset plus all my little stuff for work all fit perfectly in this with room to spare. Will defiantly buy this again and recommend this to other people if you need a tactical looking bag that can hold a lot of stuff.

Overall very satisfied with the versatility of the pack and the ability to add and customize it with molle on the back. Is also compatable with the 5.11 Rush Tier Rifle Sleeve if you do hunt and need a good way to have a solid system for carrying both your rifle and your gear. Would definitely recommend.
