Security and function-heavy defense were front of mind when the folks at 5.11 developed the TacTec Plate Carrier. Its lightweight construction means high-grade ballistic protection won't slow you down. Comfort is key to providing ultimate protection. Padded straps and panels throughout the vest reduce irritation. Further eliminating uncomfortable hotspots, the tactical vest features breathable airflow channels in zonal areas. As durable as it is comfortable, the TacTec Plate Carrier is made from tightly woven 500 denier nylon. Not only is the material abrasion-resistant, but it also repels water. This fast, light and durable armor is battle-tested and ready to withstand intense operations.

This product was recommended by a fellow Fireman I had the opportunity of working out with one shift. The product was used and abused as he used it and very LITTLE could be seen on the vest from how much it has been used (over two years). This vest is VERY durable, comfortable, expands with your breaths and movement, plus it LOOKS amazing and tactical as it is mil spec. It also has a pouch that i personally use for my CCW but i have also contemplated buying a molle attachment conceal carry type pouch for easier access. On the other hand this vest is versatile for combat or firearms training by swapping out the weighted plates to ballistic plates. RECOMMENDED BUY! ALL COLORS LOOK GREAT!

God Bless the USA!

I didn't buy this vest to use as an armored plate carrier. I actually bought this carrier to use as a weighted vest with Rogue fitness's weight plates, specifically to use during "Murph." The vest is great, tight fitting and holds the plates securely and does not have too much bounce compared to several of the other vests I have used in the past. Despite the price, totally worth the purchase. I will likely buy actual plates to use with the vest in the future.

After a couple times wearing a weight vest with removable weighted bars that had a tendency of falling out during my run, this vest has been a perfect solution to my runs. It really fits nice and snugly to my body with no chafing or excessive bouncing. I've got the 2 Rogue plates to make it a 14lb. vest and it is just perfect. Been training for Murph and know i'll be all set for the real deal come Memorial day!

The 5.11 tax-tech plate carrier is extremely comfortable compared to the crap I was issued in the marine corps from 08-12 it spreads the wieght across the shoulders and has airflow cuts that actually work plenty of Molle webbing for Kit can even place 4 ar mag pouches across the front also very well priced love this carrier will recommend to anyone thanks again 5.11 keep it up

5.11 tactical cut costs on their build of this plate carrier. I use this for fitness only(CrossFit), the plate shifts a lot when using the small amount of Velcro on the interior. 5.11 tactical changed the design and removed a lot of Velcro from the inside. The best previously had Velcro around the interior trim, that is no longer there.

I bought my Tactec plate carrier about four months ago but due to a health issue I am just now putting it thru the paces. Plates fit all but perfect in pockets, feels and fits me a lot nicer than my old carrier (won't mention names cause I do have some of their other gear I use) plus the ease of putting it on and off. All of the molle attachment areas support all of my mag carriers, blow out kit, radio pouch, etc very, very well. The only drawback is the elastic grid type of cummerbund which doesn't support the side plates / panels very well. Other than that one issue I would highly recommend this carrier.

Comfortable, quality material and great craftsmanship. It feels sturdy and not cheap or flimsy. I really like this carrier, both for fitness training or for work as ballistic plate carrier. I can wear it all day without any discomfort.

I've tried several other weight vests for running, pull-ups etc. This is by far the best. Doesn't constrict breathing and fits firmly against your body. Great for crossfire workouts. I cut my own plates from solid steel and saved money versus body armor since I do not plan on using this for its intended purpose.

This is the best, most comfortable carrier on the market today.

The mesh on the inside makes it very breathable while you wear it. The design of the carrier spreads the weight out more evenly, making it easier to wear for long periods of time.

Overall, a great product. Highly recommend

I bought two other plate carriers that ended up being too big or not sitting right. They made good presents to friends for christmas but This is by far the best one i've found out there!! It fits me snug and is not hard at all to put on quickly. I would recomend this carrier to everyone!!
