You need to let it stabilized after you start it up (and they tell you that in the manual first thing). Although it was a test of what happens if a temperature is high. I have one at home and one for people entering my work. It is factory set at 99.1 and that seems to be working. The device has a lot of capabilities for being wired into a door opener or your fire alarm system and can be networked. It is really sophisticated for the price. I just use it in the most basic manner. The stand that comes with it works but it seems to be a monitor stand or the like and finding matching attachment holes is a little of a jigsaw puzzle. Overall it works great. I mounted one on the stand and one on the wall. Very well done on this one.
