In almost every way, the design and quality of this pack exceeded my expectations. It is also one of the comfortable packs I've ever carried.
My only complaints are that it doesn't appear to hold 40L as advertised. The pack that this is replacing holds 31L and seems to have more space than this one. Additionally, the handle seems flimsy, short and a little difficult to grip.

The straps around your waist and chest can be easily removed. They also seemed supportive for hiking if you so desire. As you know in a military setting, they are not approved. So it is nice they come off. The logos are small and also easy to cut off. The color is black, so that is good to go for when they change the uniform pattern again, and then again 5 years later. :)

I bought this for my wife as her bugout bag. Tons of room and good molle placement for add ons. She says its very comfortable, I tried it on as well and I agree. Well designed and great material. Seems like it would take a lot of abuse. Cant wait to test it out in the field.
