I was looking for something to bring backpacking, and this will fit the bill perfectly. I use a small Fiskars saw for cutting wood, but needed something a bit smaller than the Fiskars 18 in Hatchet that I'd been bringing and didn't want to abuse my Moras. I have no doubts that this will be perfect for splitting/batoning firewood and shaving kindling. Lightweight, razor sharp, and full-tang. Couldn't ask for more.

Have to say that this Hatchet is great. I have been using it out in my yard and it dose a nice job, and it stays sharp. And I really like the short handle it can't get away from you. this will be a good seller.
