Reminiscent of a butterfly chrysalis, the Maxpedition Cocoon Pouch was designed as a durable low-profile carry case for objects too long to fit in other Maxpedtion waist packs or pockets. With an overall capacity of 8 inches and a full length opening zipper with paracord pull, the Cocoon Pouch will accommodate all your favorite oversized items: big fat permanent black markers and other writing utensils, titanium spork/chopsticks, even a toiletry kit with your toothbrush and shave kit. This elongated pocket also makes for a great flashlight or folding knife storage pouch. Loops throughout for tie-downs, key rings, SlikClips, or detachable 1" quick release buckles.

This is a great little pouch for odds and ends. I purchased it to ride on my bag's shoulder strap to hold keys and an ID badge when the keys are not in my pocket and when the ID is not on my belt. This pouch does the job.
I was a bit apprehensive to purchase because the strap is 1.5 inches wide and the description did not specify the width of the loops on the back. I am happy to report they will snugly hold 1.5 inch straps (of a Propper bag). The tight fit will help keep the pouch from sliding up and down on the strap, so that is a bonus.
The white stitching for the zipper and external Maxpedition tag are not necessary, but don't detract from the overall black color.
