Be light on your feet with the 5.11 8" Skyweight Side-Zip Waterproof. Featuring a metal-free design and a broad forefoot for balance, these boots provide all of the durability and protection of tactical boots with a lightweight feel. The eVent membrane waterproofs the boot and provides resistance to bloodborne pathogens to keep your feet dry and healthy. The arch lugs improve traction and rope work, while the heel brake gives you better control when navigating steep hills. To keep you comfortable, the full length CVEMA midsole and removable OrthoLite insole deliver heel-to-toe cushioning. The broad forefoot lets the toes splay more naturally and the 8mm heel-to-toe drop increases agility, speed and balance.

The size seems to be running smaller than supposed to be. I ordered first a size 11 but then thought 11.5 would fit better only to find 11.5 seemed to be even smaller so I ordered a size 12 and returned the 11.5. I love the material. And is very lightweight and would be comfortable if it fit. Can't wait for the new size.

The nicest feeling boot. Reason 1. Light is an understatement...running sneaker-light. Reason 2. Side zipper is above awesome. (if you want to remove for a foot breather) or quick dress/undress. Reason 3. Multiple colors and materials (suede/leather) Reason 4. Low profile (nice blend of style, tactical and multi-use w/o looking like SWAT all the time. Gigged on eVent /Water Proofing, though top-notch technology came in wide. However no wide widths available in non WP/eVent so I'm had to settle for a toasty WP boot in Florida heat. Pray for snow and slush.

I have had these boots for over a year or so and i have enjoyed them very much. In-fact they still are in fantastic shape after a year or so of continuous wear for job and every day use. The only thing that i am disappointed about is that if you have the water resistant pair (which i did) it takes a hell of a time to put your foot in the boot if its wet. other than that its a great boot for corrections, law enforcement and what ever use you could think of.

I am a fan of most 5.11 products and use a lot of there stuff for duty. However, these boots are sized small and overall they feel very cheap. Very minimal ankle protection or support and the side zip blew out the first time I put them on. Materials used felt very flimsy and cheap.

Barely worn and one day while pulling up the side zipper it broke into pieces and had no way to fix it. Now I am the proud owner of a useless pair of 511 boots.
