I will first say that I have a bit of a love, hate relationship with 5-11. So this review is specifically for these Apex pants.
I was looking for a pair of pants that are not so tactical looking but also highly functional for the all EDC I carry. These Apex pants are perfect for this! Plenty of pockets. The stretch is nice and functional. They fit me well. I have an athletic build, with large quads and usually don't wear pants with a slimmer fit. I got the 34/30 size and they fit very well! I liked these so much I bought a second pair in fact and will buy 1 or 2 other colors as well.
If you have a little extra weight in the middle these might not fit as well for you. They are a more fitted cut. I personally like that they have a touch higher crotch than the TD gear Carlos Ray pants. I have 3 of those pants which are the same sort of design pocket wise. These Apex pants are a little more fitted than those. Other wise these fit true to size., but are fitted. If I were a bigger guy I'd likely order one size up and have them altered. The functionality and quality is well worth it. They look great and seem very well made.

4.5 out of 5 stars.
At first I wasn't sure about these. The spandex-like material had me concerned, but it seems durable enough. I think I still would have liked it better had it been the same material as the rest of the pants which have some stretch on their own. That is my only concern/issue with these pants. I dinged these .5 stars for this reason.
I love the fit and ease of movement. They're light enough that I'm not too hot on a warm day and warm enough when it's cooler. I also really like the subdued tactical appearance of these. I can wear these in an office environ without feeling out of place and still retaining the extra pockets and versatility I want.

Overall it's a really nice pant. I also have the 511 covert pants that are 100% cotton, another nice option. Of course these are lighter and would fare much better in wet/hot weather due to the blend. My only complaint is I would much prefer Nylon over Poly., but of course nylon costs more. However at this price point they should be nylon. I have some old 511 pants( they don't offer nylon anymore), that are nylon and a pair that's nylon/ cotton blend. I prefer nylon, because it has a better feel against the skin when it heats up and is more durable. The waist is very comfortable and flexible. I like that they offer waist sizes in odd numbers. I'm 5'8" 150 and a 31x30 works great. I'm retired L.E. and carry a pistol. With the flex in the waist, same as covert cargo's, there's plenty of extra room for inside the waist band carry. Lastly, these low profile covert pants. You could even use them for casual dress up with a polo or something similiar. The battle brown is really sharp looking too!

I never write reviews unless something really stands out and these pants do. I have two pairs and I am looking to get more. But for the price I would buy even more. They are comfortable, they are low profile while for me is important, and they hold everything you need. There are two hidden cuff key spots, one big enough for a blade no issues with comfort which I was shocked by. There is a place for zip ties covert. Handcuffs, and I am sure I'm wrong but I don't use a cuff case the pants have a perfect spot for them. CCW, it tucks right in you would never know and vert comfortable. I carry a radio in the cargo pocks run the wires up under my shirt you would never know. You can fit mags in those pocks you would never know. All this is to say you can carry every thing the other guy has on a bulky belt super overt covertly with these parts and fully kitted and armed to the t you would barely know. I have worn these for work and every day life I'm talking out to the bar and club with friends, you would never know. Legit best pants ever. If you are going to buy 1 pair of pants make it these.

When I found these pants, I wanted them because of everything that they claim to be. I found myself wondering if they were really that great. So, I decided to take a change and get a pair. Now I can confirm, YES, they really are that great. If it is cold outside, you may want a thin layer, but these are a step up from any other pants that I have. And they look good too. I am anxious to use them in warmer weather, but for now, I'm loving them, and just need to pick the color of my next pair.

5.11 makes nice gear and these pantis are no exception. They were comfortable and fit true to size. The fabric is stretchy enough to give when you move, wicked moisture and sweat away well, and dried fast. The color did not run or fade when wet like some other brands. I wore them while training on a range with hard packed dirt mixed with crushed gravel. Training consisted of very little time on my knees or in the prone. The pants held up but I do not think the knees will last long in rough terrain as they show slight wear after one use.

Apex pants is truly low profile. Does not scream mall ninja. Not slim fit but not baggy either comparing to typical tactical pants. It is the only cargo pants where both pockets are zippered and very secure. Many colors to choose from and the waist stretch is perfect. I can wear without a belt and it won't slide down.
Some tactical pants are cut funny to give the appearance of a slimer fit so it is hard to get your hands in and out of front pockets or feel too tight sitting down. Apex material is stretchable and gives it a relaxed feel without being baggy. Front pockets are deep enough for 6" phone, cargo pockets have dividers to store phone too.
If you travel a lot, instead of paying overpriced travel pants, try this instead. The material is fast drying. However, because of that it is too thin for very cold weather, will need long johns. But for other seasons it is perfect. I wear 34x30 for all 5.11 and Truspec pants and same for Apex.
A bit pricey but worth it. Try a pair and you won't regret it!

This is my third pair. Very comfortable, great pockets. I like how the large side cargo pockets have zippers instead of the customary cargo pant flap that goes over the pocket to button or Velcro shut. It produces a little slimmer side profile in my opinion. The best pockets of all, and what originally guided me to these pants, are the 2nd rear pockets that are just above the main rear pockets. Perfect pocket for your 2nd magazine for CCW. The pocket positions the magazine high enough and to your side enough so it does not interfere in anyway when sitting down. Also, the pants are light and seem to breath well.
So far they're holding up great. I'm very happy wiith the quality of the pants. The sizes run a little small in my opinion. I'm usually a 36" waist, but I've purchased 38". They fit pretty good around the waist and at that size the pants feel just roomy enough and not tight like the 36" size feels. I'll definitely be buying one or two more pairs before too long.

I never tried 5.11 Tactical pants before, but when I saw the Apex introduction video, I said why not give it a shot. These pants are so amazingly comfortable, they feel like you sleeping on the most comfortable pillow top matteress you ever have slept on, but your always wearing them. Tons of pockets for your tactical gear so you won't feel like you are deciding what to not bring with you because you don't have enough room. Waist pockets are easy to access my Pepper Spray/Tear Gas canister, and Pepper Gel canister, Knife Clip on area is well made and easy to pull your knife right off. Just bought ten flexicuffs and I will put about three flexicuffs in the inner waistband flexicuff holding compartment area. Only complaint is the back pockets could of been deeper to put my wallet in but no big deal. Overall these pants change the game for tactical clothing on the market. Going to purchase another pair from this website soon. You get what you pay for in America, and you if you have the gear you need the clothing to go with it.
