I am paralyzed and dependent on a wheelchair for my mobility. Since being seated is a requirement for me pants are a challenge at the waistline in the back. I ordered leg length of these pants longer than I normally wear so that there would be extra cloth after having the leg length cut and hemmed. The extra cloth is then used to ad height to the waist in the back of pants so when I'm seated my pants are up in correct position. "Busting a sag" is not my gig and the alteration I just described works like a charm with sag prevention.

Now about the pants. Material choice holds up well to all that I throw at it with transfers when handcycling, kayaking and camping. Being paralyzed I find it especially challenging to keep my lower extremities warm so I have found the rear slash pockets of these Taclite Pro Pants to be in the perfect position for placing foot warmer packets in cold weather for keeping the hip and butt areas warm. Front pockets the same. The interior pockets at the knees intended for knee pads also help shield my knees from getting cold when knee pads are slipped into the pockets. When knees are warm it makes it easier to keep lower legs and feet warm. The crotch on these pants have the right amount of stretch and strength for all that I throw at it with transfers in and out of wheelchairs, driving seat, handcycles and snow sit ski.

The only addition I would wish for in these pants would be cargo pockets on the side of each leg below the knee like the paramedic/EMT pants have. That is where I would carry the battery packs for my foot warmers in the winter.

With a good pare of long underwear pants under these Taclite Pro Pants makes a complete cold weather get-outside package for me. If snow skiing these pants slide well when slipping into insulated ski pants and shell. These pants also work terrific in warm weather for me without the winter prevention gig described above. I'm happy with my purchase and like having the tactical look and feel rather than always relying on jeans.

I have been wearing these pants (I closet one of each color) exclusively for 7 years. My coworkers give me a hard time because I'm the "tactical pant guy". My response to them is simple. JEANS ARE 100+ YEAR OLD TECHNOLOGY! The only kryptonite to these engineering marvels are cigarettes. I don't smoke personally, but if a cherry even looks in the direction of these legendary designed pants, it bores an immediate hole and quick. I've done everything in these pants and they excel every time. Hiking, golfing, fishing, combat training, work, weddings, Christmas parties, disc golfing, you name it, I guess I'll forever be known as the tactical pant guy. All in the name of comfort, performance, style, user interface configuration options, the reason are unlimited. Careful smokers

I have worn tactical light weight pants for years that were made by other name brand companies and these are by far the best. To keep it simple here are my bullet points of what I like abut them (I have NO dislikes about them).

1) They are made of a light weight material that is both strong and very comfortable in the heat, I live in Florida.

2) For comfort these are the best that I have ever worn. Not baggy but loose in all of the right places allowing full movement of the legs. Weather you are walking, running or on the ground these pants will not be a problem for you.

3) Good construction makes me feel comfortable kneeling on pavement or grass without giving a thought to my pants being damaged or stained. It may not seem important but they have lots of belt loops so they stay nicely even with full pockets.

4) Of course they have all kinds of pockets to carry your stuff which is why we buy them in the first place.

Nice pair of pants.

Lightweight ripstop fabric is still lighter than the canvas material. It's relatively light to wear in warm weather. May have to wear long underwear underneath if one wishes to wear the pants during the cold winter weather.
Seems to be durable so will review again later after it's been put through some work and washings. It does have the swish-swish noise when moving so I'm hoping it'll go away as the pants are broken in more.

The left front pocket is meant for storing/carrying clips not a smartphone as an encased iPhone 5S just barely fit. Don't know what the small front pocket is for except to maybe carry money. Wished there was a separate wallet pocket in the rear pockets and that there were buttons instead of velcro on the pockets as it's noisy and clumsy.

Bought 36w30L and waist is true to size with enough stretch that it's roomy so a belt is needed, at least for me.
Can Not get Unhemmed pants or Odd sized inseams.
A 32L was too long as it was literally scraping the ground even with shoes or boots so 30L was acceptable.
The pants look good when standing and moving but the pants ride up when crouching or sitting so some socks do show on the lower legs.
Hopefully with the poly/cotton mix, it won't shrink in length and that the pants are durable for years to come.

The price is relatively expensive so get it when it's on sale though any shipping charges may eat up the savings.

This was the fifth pair of Taclite Pro pants I get. I love this pants. They are extremely comfortable. They are stain resistant. They look badass. They have elastic waistband which for some is a turn down, but believe me, some times manufactures sizing is not accurate and an advertised 32" waist can be a true 31" or 33" or anything but a true 32" So my point is having that elastic waistband gives you the advantage of choosing a size without the risk of getting a pants that is not the right size. And I am not saying that this particular brand has sizing issues, not at all, but sometimes you think you are certain size and you are not (either way, smaller or bigger waistband size) anyway, Love these pants, I have five different colors and I love them all.

Built for our tacticool brothers and sisters. Just kidding, these are great for everyone. I love how this pants have the elastic waist band and plenty of pockets. Order your current size because you will have plenty of room for your concealed weapon. Trust me, I order with the 2 inch bigger than your sized rule and now I need to wear a belt if I don't carry. The pants are pretty thin, so these make for great summer time pants and very cold winter time pants. They dry out ASAP so perfect for the people who will use this to go out doors. If you've ever worn a uniform, know that these pants feel like PJ's you could sleep in and they conform to you! I love the wider belt loops, the very rugged zipper and the front phone pocket (magazine pocket)! A little more on the expensive side but well worth it. I use my for the range, hiking and every casual wear. If you have the money and your in the market, go 5.11. You can't go wrong.

True to size as usual. Cool in the summer because of the lightness of the material but the strong ripstop material and triple stitching in the high wear areas will make it last years. Sure the color well fade after a hundred washes but that is a given. Great for the range and awesome for work (Armored truck services). Looks great even when I wore it to college. As you can tell I do not care to wear denim (jeans) nor do I even own a pair. Price is great especially when you can catch it on sale like I did. I believed I paid $39.95 and bought five pants. Four black and one blue which I use for work. I have about 15 other 5.11 pants thus I can vouch for the toughness of these Taclite Pro Pants. I think I will try the Stryker 5.11 pants next. Read alot of reviews on that as well as watching YOU-TUBE on both of these pants. Yes, they also come in many colors too.

For size comparison, I am six feet, four inches tall, 40 inch waist, 230 lbs. Size 40 x 34 fits me perfectly. I love everything about these pants. Lots of pockets, roomy fit for stretching, squatting, running, climbing and all kinds of activity. Great all weather pants. Comfortable in the summer and a light merino wool base layer could be used during colder periods. Elastic bands on waist for that added stretch when needed. The leg width is wide to accommodate boots and additional undergarments if needed. Many colors and size combinations to choose from. This is truly a great pair of pants. I wish these were issue during my military career. Love to wear them for hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. Definitely the top performer compared to the other tactical pant brands.

I've been planning on buying a pair of 511's for awhile now and was waiting until I dropped a couple of Waist sizes. I was searching for a durable pair that was in buget and these pants fit the bill perfectly! They had the color that I was looking for and the waist size and length. Being 6'8", it's hard to find quality pants in my size. The fit is awesome and all the pockets are as described. I do love the cell phone pocket on the left side of the pants.
My only wish is that, I'm dominantly left handed and the cell phone pocket be on the right side of the pant and the pocket knife pocket be on the left side. Granted there are more righties than lefties, but that option would great. Other than that I love my purchase and will make others in the future. Will recommend to friends!

5.11 designed a really nice pair of tactical pants in this product. As I looked over the pants when they came in, I found myself saying "Wow, they've thought of everything" multiple times. All except for the fact that the "cell phone pocket" is not wide enough to fit a smart phone. But then it may be designed specifically for a certain type of radio or feature phone used by operators and not for fancy smart phones. I love how the back pockets have angled tops instead of horizontal openings. That is awesome. I also love the short piece of reenforcement along the edge of the back pockets for adding support where you clip a knife. I haven't worn them much yet but they feel really solid and I have no doubt they are going to hold up well. The only thing I can recommend (besides buy them) is to be careful on the size. I bought the same size as jeans I wear and they are a little tight around the waist (they'll snap shut but putting my Sig 1911 in an inside-the-pant holster is a little tough). The length is perfect. If you're unsure of buying tactical pants; buy these. They really are great.
