I bought a pair looking for breathable tactical shorts in hot GA summers. I own vertx and 24-7 but these are my go to shorts for outside work and wearing around the house or to the local HD/Wal-Mart/etc. I bought a second pair for the beach and had no issues with the heat. Waist size is as identified (by comparison, I have to buy a size up for vertx and 24-7). While I prefer mag pockets in my side pockets, the mag pouch works fine for me. Sometimes I will use it for my SOG Powerlock, and it fits perfect. With my smartphone in the front slit, I can carry my Springfield XD sub compact in my front pocket with very little printing. It's heavy for pocket carry, and these are the only shorts I can carry concealed in this manner. I don't really use the back pockets for anything other than my EDC knife on one side and my EDC light on the other side...the velcro in the middle gets in the way. That said, I prefer the carry location in these shorts that are further back from the typical EDC carry in the front pockets of most other shorts/pants. That also allows me to keep my phone in the large front pocket if I want without worrying about my knife scratching it while in my pocket. I have had my first pair for at least a year (maybe 2)...been through numerous washings...slight fade in color but no problems with stitching, zipper, or anything else

The cut on the shorts aren't the worst when standing, but when you sit down or try to kneel, they bunch up in the crotch horrible and are so tight everywhere else. Last time I try to buy 5-11 pants or shorts.

Love the material and construction. However, the left flap pocket should be a little wider to accommodate a smart phone. I suspect it's designed for a clip, but those of us who are not sworn law enforcement would love to put a smart phone in there. Also, with the shots (logically) the lower pocket is a little shallow for a smart phone. Not a problem with the regular pants, but again, a good reason to put the phone in the upper left pocket.

Great shorts so far . Only a few hours into the first time wearing them . But one issue I have is restrictive lateral movement . When throwing a leg up to get in my truck I found these shorts hit there limit and restricted my right leg a bit as I attempted to enter my truck to the point I thought " Oh crap , don't rip " They held . I was however surprised I had this restriction period .

Other than that they are great , fit true to size . like the Elastic waistband for extra inch or so for CCW . Price could have been a bit better but . If they last I suppose they will be worth it .

Awesome shorts! Basically all the perks of the tactical pants, but in a summer version. Lightweight, airy, but still strong and durable. Beat the crap out of them, throw in the laundry, and they come out like new. I’m “vertically challenged “ and the length is fine. Right at the knee.

Great shorts. Fit well. As other reviewers have said, they come out of the dryer in great shape and do not need ironing. However, the website should include a disclaimer that you should go up a size if you are going to carry IWB as the elastic does not expand enough for that.

The fit with the stretch waist makes these shorts very comfortable. The material is stain and water resistant. These come in 11" and 9" inseam. Make sure you select the correct inseam for you. I now have 4 colors and 9 pair. This is an excellent and durable product.

You cannot find a better quality or more longer lasting pair of shorts than 5.11 Tactical. Just like their longer version pants, but with the comfort of a pair of shorts. Love the extra magazine pockets...they also work great for clip-on, pocket knives.

Living in Florida, shorts are my year-round daily attire.
I have found the 5.11 Taclite Pro shorts to be the best
in every respect; no buttons to come off, they don't
shrink, and they are very comfortable and durable.
I highly recommend these.

I have always had these shorts,
but in a color called 'coyote'.
When I saw them in Dark Blue,
I got a pair. My wife said they
looked 'GREAT' ! - She made me
re-order immediately.
