I've been looking for a good pair of cargo pants for a while when I found these. That they come in colors other than black and kakhi seems nothing short of miraculous.
I'm a professional computer geek who does a lot of network support, so having a bunch of pockets to stash an assortment of small tools, patch cords, and small bits of electronics is essential, in addition of course to the wallet that's way too thick to sit on comfortably, the PDA, cellphone, iPod, and a digital camera.
My only complaint is that some have 5 belt loops and some have 7 and there doesn't seem to be any way to specify which way you want it. my first pair of black pants had 7 belt loops, the second had only 5. My green pants came the opposite. The ability to specify would not be awry.
Personally, I'd also love to have another cellphone pocket on the other leg.

I like the fit of cargo style clothing and when I first discovered 5.11 Tactical, I couldnt believe how much better these pants are than the everyday style that regular clothing stores sell. The usual sporting goods stores pants are ok but the tactical wear is so much more durable and have a better fit, especially when they are worn every day, I wont wear anything else.

You can read plenty of great reviews of these pants, and I agree with them. My first pair lasted nearly two years before I snagged them climbing up to the passenger door of an overturned work van at an accident I witnessed. If not for that, I'd probably still only have that first pair, but I got to be a good samaritan and now I've replaced those pants.

But what I want to point out here is that I can put my iPad 2 in the back pocket of these pants. I hope it isn't a function of the (big) size of my particular pants, but it is handy to put the iPad in my pocket when I'm going out to the car or whatever. Obviously you don't want to sit down on the iPad, but for keeping your hands free, these pants work well.

Basically, I have been working at a Machine Shop for the last 10 months, and have the job of keeping the place looking good outside and in. I used to think Jeans were the only viable work pant, until I discovered that these are available in 34w 36l, which is a huge deal because I can't find jeans in that size. With these pants, I can carry my phone, my light, my knife, and my Multitool without filling my main pockets and looking like some 20 year old who just stole candy from a gas station. Given that these are intended for use in "combat", I figured they would hold up nicely doing yard work, and I can say that so far, everything is just great. I will DEFINITELY order more stuff from 5.11

Expensive but decent pants. True to size with 36Wx32L. Holds up well in warm wash and warm dry though some ironing is needed. Khaki color didn't fade or run. Hopefully it'll shrink in the length hence the 32L as I wear 31L.
Similar to ripstop version but no front right slit pocket. A separate rear wallet pocket is needed as it's missing. Side cargo pockets seem to be positioned slightly lower than the ripstop version.
Canvas version is relatively heavier and not as comfortable than ripstop version but seems more durable. Fits relatively better than denim jeans as it's more relaxed and roomy. Better for cooler weather wearing in autumn and winter.
Buy when it's on sale.

This is not my first pair of 5.11 Tactical pants so I was not surprised by the excellent quality. This is my second purchase from Tacticalgear.com and I found the transaction to be very easy, the pants were delivered as promised and I have experienced no issues with either of my past purchases. I would not hesitate to use them again.

5.11 canvas Tactical pants are designed for the professional but are great for everyone. These are about indestructible and can handle any kind of duty at work or at play. The Velcro pockets are handy for storing all of your items no matter what kind of work or play you do.

We have worn black Taclite pants at work for years. The pants are so comfortable that I have several pair for leisure wear including a pair of the heavier Tactical pants. I got the 5.11 heavier Tactical pants in black to wear this winter when the temps drop.
