Perfect for any outdoor activity on duty or off, the 5.11 Tactical Shorts are tough, comfortable and ultra-functional. The cotton fabric, double thick seat, reliable locking-flange YKK zippers and Prym snaps make these shorts durable and comfortable enough for everyday wear. Bar-tacking at high-stress areas and the double and triple stitching promotes ultimate maneuverability and a wide range of motion when kneeling, bending down, running or performing strenuous activity. The seven-pocket construction includes the patented rear strap and slash pockets, cargo pockets with inverted pleats and roomy front pockets. For additional storage, there is a D-ring attachment for keys or ID.

I own four pair of these shorts and love them. But, as other people as commented, they seem to fit 'snugger' than the regular 5.11 tactical pants when ordering the same size. And, the last two I ordered had the waist button stitching give way after just wearing them once. I also had the button issue on the newest pair 5.11 pants I ordered too. A little Q.I. on these.
Adding a couple of inches to the length would bring them 'into style' so-to-speak...

I have used 5.11 products for a long time even back to when they were labeled Royal Robbins. Although I am retired from LE and MIlitary I will continued to used these time tested products.

This order was for 2 more pair of these heavy duty shorts. Like all of the pockets and the probable durability of the thick material they are made of.
Bonus was that they were about $7 per pair less expensive in this site than in retail stores.

I have been issued their tactical clothing (Tac Pants, shorts, undershirts for my body armor etc.) as a Special Agent with Homeland Security. Now I have to purchase it as I'm recently retired.
Nothing better!!

I bought the shorts because I so very much liked the pants. The shorts, however, are cut a tad smaller in both the waist and seat. I was surprised by the difference in fit, as the shorts were advertised as being identical to the pants, but with a 9-inch inseam. Also, the 9-inch inseam is WAY to short. I would recommend that you add at least 1.5 inches to enhance the style, and functionality of this item.

I've searched and owned many a pair of shorts, and the best I've found to carry concealed with are Carhart- until I bought my first pair of 5.11 Tac Shorts. The strap on the backside above the pocket helps retain a concealed carry Serpa, keeping it tucked in closer to your body. I went from "barely noticeable" to "total concealment" with these shorts.

I got a good price on the 5.11 tactical shorts, but the material density has gone down over the years.

As far as Tactical Gear, there was no issues, great price and fast shipping!

Started wearing the shorts, shirts & pants over 15 years ago (Yes that's pre 9/11). My team liked 5.11 so well, we had them adopted as the offical uniform of the team. When I retired, I continued and will continue to wear 5.11 shorts, polos and pants. They fit well, are comfortable (This is really important to a retired guy) and just look good.

When I retired here in Texas I discarded all my suits, long trousers and ties. Their having proved their worth above all others, I now wear only 5.11 Tactical Shorts.

I am a retired LEO living in Texas. Have a CHL license. I wear shorts and T-shirt almost every day. Inside waistband holster for M1911 is very comfortable, but I do order a waist 2 in. longer for that reason. The elastic in the waist is ideal for my purposes.

Top Notch! They beat the competition soundly.
