The Altama Aboottabad Trail Mid is a rugged trail runner loaded with tactical features starting with Altama's legendary Panama Sole technology. Using sticky SOFROC rubber that wraps up in the arch to aid in fast roping, Altama have turned a typical trail runner into a tactical machine! Altama's midsole cushioning is compiled of multiple layers to protect the tactical warrior. They start with a dual density EVA midsole; slightly softer in the heel for added cushion and rebound. Altama embeds a full length Rock 'n Roll Plate on the bottom side to prevent bruising from rocks and roots. The strobel insole board is lined with an additional layer of EVA for that extra cushioning. The upper has many features not found in most trail runners today. The molded rubber toe assists and protects the foot when having to kick in a door. The injection molded TPU heel clip adds support and provides superior stability. Altama have constructed the upper for maximum breathability. Using the best microfiber PU as well as breathable nylon mesh, Altama laminate the materials in such a way to promote superior air flow, thus a healthier foot environment. The nylon loop lacing system helps for quick adjustment. On the heel you will find a nylon pull loop to assist when pulling on your shoe. Altama's insole is an Alta-lite dual density blown PU insole for exceptional cushioning and support.

This is my second pair of these boots. My last pair lasted for about 12 or 13 months of daily duty use. After about 6 months I snapped one of the quick lace tabs off at the rivet. I ended up drilling out the rivet and replacing with a screw and nut. The boots lasted another 6 months just fine. I'm only replacing them now because I ripped the fabric above the toe. There is still plenty of sole left and they are still very comfortable. The boot takes a week or two of regular use to break in, but it was worth it. I suggest an insole if you wear them for any length of time. I debated the insole, as I work 12 hr shifts. I decided against it in the long run, as I'm assigned to motors, and motors don't walk to anything. I look forward to another 12+ months of this boot. I also recommend the Altama OTB if you haven't checked them out yet. One of the best features is that the tongue is recessed under the laces, and it doesn't catch your pants making you look like a slob.

They look amazing and feel great on my feet with wonderful support. Great for work and play. I couldn't have purchased a better boot.

Thank you soooooo much you have yet to disappoint. :-)

I ordered the same size I always have but this style are tight in the front. I would return them for a larger size but I wore them for a day.
