For a reliable, high-performance boot, look no further than the Bates Paratrooper SZ. The high ankle support provides a comfortable, secure fit and extended lacing ensures the boots stay in place. A full-length zipper allows for easy removal, while the polishable leather toe makes for a consistently professional look. The leather upper is sturdy and able to withstand long wear, as supported by the boots' Goodyear welt construction. The durable, slip-resistant rubber outsole grips well and is safe on different terrains, and the removable cushioned insert absorbs shock and provides added comfort. These boots are comfortable, practical and maintain a professional look with maximum utility.

I bought these boots about 2-3 months ago and have been wearing them ever since. I have not had any problems so far. They are comfortable and seem to be of sturdy design. The only thing I think is worth mentioning is not really a problem with the boot but more I guess with my foot. The length and width of the boot fits my foot perfectly but the one area that has given me trouble is the height ? of the toe area ? if that sounds right. Basically that area is cavernous and there is a lot of room for my foot to move up and down in no matter how tight I tighten them. I guess that maybe I have a skinny foot which is the problem not the boot. I found a way to fix it and that was to add an extra insole and that fixed it just fine and took up that extra space. Once I did that they are perfect. But just know that could be an issue. Other than that they are great and I would buy them again.

Well gentlemen I have read the reviews and I completely agree with most of you, In 2000 I first bought these boots. I have put them through hell and back in the last 14 years from working on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier, police department, and now protecting our nations borders hiking every day up and down mountains and walking in the desert. I have worn these boots every day for fourteen years and now its time to replace them with a new pair since the sole on my boots its practically no existent, so for what its worth these boots are definitely the best boots I have worn since the start of my career. I would recommend these boots to anyone looking for a pair of boots that are easy to break in and comfortable to wear for more than 12 hours a day. Great Job Bates with these boots.

These boots are uniformed and perfect. They come prepolished, which is great for anyone one who wants to spend less time polishing, or spend the same time and get a perfect mirror finish. The soles are great for drills and inspections. The zipper is high quality and help for quick dressing. They are very comfortable, and will do a great job all day when it comes to looking good and being functionable. I was on a security detail for Civil Air Patrol on the cape and I was out all day. It rained really bad, but my boots didn't get wet at all. I recommend this to anyone who can get this. only bad thing about them is the fact that is the fact the buckles on the top to secure the zipper are a little bit hard to secure, but if you pull the material in the front back, it zippers and buckles easier.

I wore Bates Boots while I served in the Navy and they held up beyond expectation then and these are holding up just fine today. My last pair endured temperatures ranging from 50 to above 100 degrees F on the steel deck of a repair ship in various regions of the world (Asia, The Middle East, South Pacific, Southern California). These boots have thus far survived temperatures well below 50 degrees F in the city of Mason City, IA. A decent pair of cushioned boot socks are needed when wearing these boots during and beyond the breaking in period. I certainly recommend these boots to anyone looking for something that will endure the rigors of city pavement, dirt roads, deer trails, and when transitioning from one to the other. Not recommended for running marathons or dancing.

True to size, great fit. Side zippers are long enough that foot goes in and out quickly toes and heels take a great shine I've been able to wear them all day long for four days in a row with very little break in. Living in the mountains we have to do a lot of uphill climbing. Soles grip good and do not chip in hard Rock.

This is the first time I have not only ordered from tactical gear but also paratrooper boots. I have had 1 other pair of Bates in my career and just thought they were "OK". I have heard great things about these boots and with an compound with 80 acres inside the fence. That is allot of walking /running. It seems to have a longer break in period than I have had with others but hopefully with this kind of tread it will last me much longer than the usual 6 to 8 months.

My son picked these out for his JROTC activities. These were exactly the style he was looking for and couldn't be happier. Found that these boots run perhaps slightly big for those who are concerned about selecting the proper size.

I very happy with my Bates boots. First day wearing them feet hurt a little. But next day was all good. This is my second pair of this style of boot I have bought. They last about 4 years. I think I wear these boots more then any other shoe.

I've owned a pair for a while, and bought this pair as a birthday gift for a friend. They were a huge hit! Bates boots are the best for quality and style, and they're comfortable too. Customer service was a great help too with shipping so these would be here in time for the gifting.

Just got these in the mail yesterday and wore them all day today. Can't complain a bit. Pretty comfortable even when they're not broken in. They were a little stiff, but after a few hours wasn't a huge deal. my only complaint is that they got kinda hot, and if you don't have your pants tucked into the boots, and if you don't have socks long enough the leather can rub against your leg and got rather uncomfortable. I would definately recommend these to a friend
