The Bates Shock is the first boot to feature the innovate Bates Endurance Performance system, which combines a dual-density EVA midsole with a memory foam footbed for fatigue-reducing support to provide comfort all day long. The leather/nylon upper and athletic cement construction make it as durable and tough as any other Bates boot, but the added nylon shank and shock-absorbing EVA foam midsole add security and relief for long hours on the job. The waterproof membrane keeps feet dry in wet conditions and TPU mesh panels along the upper transfer heat out of the boot to provide breathability. A rugged rubber outsole, slip-resistant and lugged for extra grip, gives traction on any surface or terrain. Although it has a traditional lace system, this boot also features a nylon side zipper for quick removal.

Ive been buying tactical boots for 14 years now working with the Department of Corrections. Again I was worried about my feet with breaking in new boots. I work 12 hour days and am on my feet for most of that 12 hours, these were comfortable almost as soon as you get them out of the box. At first they fit a little snug, I was worried about this as well, but within an hour they adjusted to my feet and fit awesome. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because there is no loop on the back to pull them on, I have to admit this does annoy me because I have to go through a shake down procedure about 3 times a day where I'm required to take my boots off and on.

although this is the first pair of STRIKE boots, i have two other pairs of Bates tactical boots that i have been wearing for more than 10 years. they have out lasted several other brands of boots in the same general style (tactical, side zip, waterproof). my only negative with these is the xtrawide are not all that wide. i'm sure they will break in to be perfect but i may have ordered a half size larger for most immediate comfort.

Bought these in an extra wide , first few days I was worried seemed narrow. Have had no issues since break in very comfortable and lightweight . True test was a 18 hour day. No problems most comfortable boots I have ever owned.

I like how lightweight and comfortable this boot is, I hope it holds up better than the last pair of Bates I had which were also nice but had a short life before they started falling apart.

Advertised information about the boot was accurate and informative. Time of order placed to product arrival was less than a week! First time wearing this brand so not sure what to expect.

Boots very good but the knife was made unsafely with spring holder for blade very useless. They shouldn't have sent junk like that...perhaps offer a better knife for a few $

They initially felt really narrow. Been wearing about 2 weeks now and they have stretched out a bit and are very comfortable

These boots are great. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on the looks of these boots and they are fairly comfortable. Only issue I have is the right boot has a loud, annoying “squishy” sound every time I step on it. Other than that, I can’t complain

Boots wear well, but difficult to pull onto foot no loop attached to back to assist.
