I bought these to wear as dress shoes because I usually find dress shoes uncomfortable. These fit the bill nicely. While they are not QUITE as comfortable as athletic shoes, they come pretty darn close. I have worn them for a full day at a time and have no complaints whatever. The shine appears that it will last a long time which is another plus.

Finally gave in and ordered the high gloss for occasions when I'm wearing Class A uniform. I also ordered a Bates 4" Code six in the same size, but the high gloss seem to be tighter, perhaps because the leather is stiffer. Otherwise I'd have given 5 stars.

I had the honor of marching in the Tournament of Roses Parade this year with the USAF Total Force Band and needed a good pair of corps frams. These definitely did the job! They keep my feet from hurting even after a 6 mile march.

Great Price, fast delivery, true to size, well constructed and lite weight. Often imitated but never duplicated. 25 year of public service as well as the military that first introduced the Bates brand. I have tried some of the new kids that have come out but Bates have never disappointed. This was the best price I have ever paid for Bates quality shoes. The surprise was the shoes were delivered before ceremony , it took longer than expected for delivery had to call and even got a RMA but the shoes made it. The shoes were very comfortable and looked great.
