These are by far the best pair of boots I have ever had the privilege of wearing, especially since Doc Martens went to crap (now made in China instead of the original, British made boots). I have been wearing a pair of Austrian Military Combat Boots (I've always preferred Milsurp boots and gear) and they are great, 100%, top quality leather 10 inch boots. I honestly didn't think I'd find their equal, until I found these, of course. Yes, they are expensive, but you get what you pay for. I can't believe the top quality, all leather construction (including lots of strong triple stitching, padded cuffs, Vibram soles, as well as the fact that you can (with a simple change of socks) have the same pair of boots be just as comfortable in the snow (which doesn't get into your boots, thanks to Danner's top quality, "made to be used heavily and still come up on top in all kinds of terrain with heavy wear" construction, and they don't even look as tho you put these high quality products thru a week in the thick, rugged terrain and mountainous woods near my house, wearing a heavy ruck, lots of weapons, ammo, and gear, basically a full combat load and more) as well as the hot and humid Summer months here in the American South. I wear them to work (I am a Mortician, and they go very nice with my suits and ties), I wear them hunting, hiking, camping, on personal "field maneuvers" to keep my skills sharp (while carrying/wearing a large, fully loaded ruck that very often contains 80 + lbs of gear, along with my pistol belt & tac vest that are both loaded with lots of extra high capacity mags of strong, heavy caliber rounds, powerful and heavy duty weapons, and they are ready for work again with a good polish and mink oil treatment.
When I was a teenager, I saw a pair of Danner "Special Forces Boots" that I wanted so much but couldn't afford. Haven't seen those boots in decades and thought I'd not see them again. Now, in my mid 40s, with a good career, I find something extremely close (they may even be the same thing). As long as you take care of them by keeping them polished and treated, they're indestructible liker a good 1911. At more than 300, they are expensive, but I've dreamed of those Danner Special Forces boots for so many years (decades) that I figured I deserve some nice stuff I want. I make good money but I don't drive a flashy car, I don't wear fancy clothing (except at work because in the Mortuary field you kinda have to). I figure I deserve some things I like and want, and I simply can't think of a better set of boots at any price by any manufacturer.

Have tried many boots and brands. There is no sturdier yet comfortable boot you can your feet into than the Ft Lewis. Minutes out of the box your feet will feel snug, supported, warm but dry - and remain that way hiking up a glacier, stomping thru an ice covered creek or on a hot sand canyon floor out west. Stylish enough to wear with slacks in an office setting but feel like your comfiest sneakers. Who'd want anything else? Pricey but worth it.

Comfortable, great support, long lasting. Can wear these all day. One thing I dislike is there are a lot of laces, but once they are on they are great. Been wearing this brand and model for over 20 years. The company that manufactures them is top notch. Price is high, you pay for what you get. I have resoled my boots but have never worn them out, simply outgrown them. Best there is.......they also take a great shine.

I have had my pair for 10+ years and now need to send them off to Danner to restore them, these are the best winter boots I have worn and just got a pair of Desert Arcadia to wear in the summer heat. In ten plus years the only thing that I have had to replace is the soles which wear out on all shoes. With cleaning and boot care the Fort Lewis boots will last for years of use.

These are the best boots out there for duty! They last forever, and shine up well. They are totally waterproof. Because these are taller than other boots they are tall enough too keep water out of the top and provide great ankle support. I have worn these for 48 hours without taking them off even once!
