Engineered to handle the roughest terrain with superior grip and traction, the lightweight Danner 8" Tachyon GTX is a comfortable, supportive and ultra-protective tactical boot with 100% GORE-TEX waterproofing technology. The upper combines full-grain leather with 1,000 denier nylon to deliver ventilation, all-day comfort and all-weather protection. The cushioned EVA midsole maximizes shock absorption and arch support for long days on the job. Now fitted with pentagonal lugs along the Tachyon outsole for optimal traction, the boot also features an open-cell polyurethane footbed and heel support for enhanced impact resistance and softer landings. The athletic design and speed lace fastening system make this a great boot for high levels of activity, as it can be worn in wet conditions and for extended periods of time without wearing down.

I'm a game warden so I do a great deal of walking while on patrol. I was looking for a durable, light weight option for a boot and Danner seems to have knocked this one out of the park. I've worn the boot for two weeks now and really like them! Only time will tell on how durable they are, but hoping to get some good solid use out of them. You will be amazed at how light they are and the uppers remind me of the old Military Jungle boot I used to wear. If they are the same quality as other Danner boots I've worn, these will be incredible!!

I’m very impressed with how well they break in! I worked construction for 20 years prior to law enforcement. I’ve worn pretty much every brand name boot out there. This boot is definitely the lightest boot. So far no complaints. Put them on the first day and they were comfortable. I would definitely recommend this boot anyone looking for comfort and lightness.

This format not very clear. I am 75, I did Outward Bound when I was 32. Used army jungle boots. Fantastic. They showed how these were made, so great. They help with ankle for support. I wear with my dresses, leggings, shorts. I am usually very stylish, I make them work with most of my clothe.
I also wear them working in the yard, outside projects. Great to have seen on the show, Man Made. I will be ordering more.

As soon as I put these boots on I felt instant comfort. The only thing I can say as a con is for the first few days my ankle rubbed against where the support strap is in the back, but other than that they are top notch and are in Keeping with Danners high traditions.

this is an extremely comfortable boot !. unfortunately, an idiot designed it. to get it on you have to take a razor blade and cut the sides of the tongue underneath the laces to even get the boot on !! once on and laced up.....fantastic boot. I would rate this a five star if it wasn't so had to get on ........

Sneaker like comfort right out of the box, VERY little break in time. If you get them soaking wet, they dry within a few hours. They offer great foot support and even a bit in the ankles. They keep my feet cool and dry in the hot weather, and much warmer than expected when it gets below freezing. Very light weight and breathable. Extremely versatile and COMFORTABLE design, far superior to other boots I have owned. I bought them in 2014 to wear camping in the Adirondack mountains, still in great shape almost 5 years later. Would definitely buy them again, and highly recommend them, well worth the money!!

All the reviews I read said they were very comfortable and somehow that is an understatement! These boots fit well the first time I put them on and wore them for a 10 hour shift without any problems. These boots are well worth it! They have held out water going through a few deep puddles.

These boots are very light in weight. They almost feel like wearing sneakers. Not too much ankle support but that is ok. I bought these to comply with my departments policy. These boots shine up nicely. I would recommend to anyone in law enforcement.

These boots had me worried when I ordered them because as many people know, buying footwear online is a nightmare. But I was surprised when I wore them for the first time that they fit nice and snug. It took a few days to break in but nothing major. My only complaint are the support bands towards the bottom of the boot, they rubbed a little against my foot.

It is a very comfortable boot, it did take a little more time then usual to shine but it is lightweight and comfortable.
