Vibram Bifida rubber outsole

The Vibram Bifida rubber outsole on the Garmont T8 Bifida Boots is designed to provide maximum traction and durability in a wide range of environments. It is made from high-quality rubber that is resistant to wear and tear, and it features a specialized tread pattern that provides excellent grip on both wet and dry surfaces. Whether you're navigating rocky terrain or slippery mud, the Vibram Bifida rubber outsole will keep you stable and secure.

Ventilated, quick-drying construction

The Garmont T8 Bifida Boots are designed with a ventilated, quick-drying construction that helps keep your feet comfortable in a wide range of temperatures and environments. The boots are made from breathable materials that allow air to circulate around your feet, preventing overheating and excessive sweating. The quick-drying construction also helps prevent the buildup of moisture inside the boots, which can lead to blisters and other foot problems.

Polyurethane insole

The polyurethane insole on the Garmont T8 Bifida Boots is designed to provide maximum comfort and support for your feet. It is made from high-quality materials that mold to the shape of your feet, providing a customized fit that helps reduce fatigue and discomfort. The insole also helps absorb shock and reduce the impact of each step, helping to protect your feet and joints from injury.

Suede leather and 600 denier nylon / polyester upper

The upper of the Garmont T8 Bifida Boots is made from a combination of suede leather and 600 denier nylon / polyester, making it both durable and lightweight. The suede leather provides excellent protection against abrasions and other types of damage, while the nylon / polyester material helps keep the boots lightweight and flexible. The upper is also designed to be breathable, allowing air to circulate around your feet and helping to keep them cool and dry.

I came from wearing McRae's 12W, Style 4189 Desert Boots as a comparison to the Garmont. I needed new boots, and I was wanting to try something different, something a little lighter in weight. Using a digital postal scale, these Garmont' came in at 3lbs 4 oz pair and are lighter in weight by 10 ounces per pair over the McRae's which came in at 3lbs 14oz pair. The Garmont' out of the box are more comfortable for "break in" than the McRae' as well. I purchased the 12W for the Garmont as recommended. I wish I had bumped it up a 1/2 size though for a little more toe room though to match the McRae' 12W. The width for my feet ( big and flat ) is right on however. It is winter time here in Northern Arizona and with a medium 100% wool sock from REI these boots are comfortable with temps in the mid 20's at night. The one gripe I have and it is minor, and can be fixed easily, is the type of boot lace that comes with the Garmont. One of the reasons I enjoy my McRae desert boots is that they are so quick to lace and unlace! I only have 10 miles on these Garmonts, but so far they are worth the purchase price to try something different. I am liking these so much I am considering buying another pair but in a 12.5 W as a winter boot that can be worn with heavier wool socks. My McRae's were good for over 900 miles, let' see how long these Garmont's hold up.

My Son who I purchased these boots for made this comparison, he wore the Army boots issue and then I bought him the Garmont NFS boots and he made this comparison it’s like going from a Yugo to a Porsche and he wore them practically to the point that they’re falling off of his feet so he looked into the Garmont T8 Bifida and his comparison is going from a Porsche to a Super charged Rolls Royce, he loves them he says they’re even better then the NFS boots because he does a lot of heavy rucking, he swears by them, and the price was great, and I had a coupon and with the discount the price was even better so again this was a win-win in my situation great job !!!!!!!

I was in the market for some hiking boots and wanted to spend the money on something durable and functional. E.G. I don't like having to buy pairs of new shoes every year. Then I thought why not boots approved for use in combat? After doing some research these seemed to fit the bill, well made, not cheap but not $300+. So I decided to pull the trigger. The price on tactical gear.com was less than any other retailer, the boots shipped quickly and arrived on time. They're great boots. Very solidly made. They're warm but not too hot. They don't feel super heavy to me. I have a 10-year old pair of magnum high techs that these are replacing and these are lighter. I've only walked about 5 miles in them but so far they're a great mix of comfort and toughness. They still feel a little stiff but I'm sure that'll work itself out. So far very pleased and I would recommend these boots.

I went to Infantry transition course with a pair of old ripple soles and my feet were thrashed after our 12 miler. but i did notice is that everyone who had a pair(quite of few actually) of these said their feet were just fine. so what did i do.. i order a pair and the day i got them i went on a 3 mile hike with a 55 lbs pack in the foot hills. i had a slight tender spot on the side of my foot but thats due to my abnormally wide feed. within the week they fit my foot like it was molded for it. my wife loves hers as well. sizing; i normally wear a 9.5W in casual shoes, 8.5W in army boots. i ordered a 9W in these and they fit perfect.

I've been wearing the desert sand version of these for years. First impressions with the new coyote version are they come up one eyelet higher, they run slightly narrower, and weirdly the laces are poofier. I like the added height because my pants would fall out of the top on the regular. I don't have any of my old boots to compare the width so maybe it's because these boots are brand new and my old ones were well broken in. The "poofiness" of the laces are kind of weird. The old ones stayed flat no matter what. These ones feel more "hollow" if that makes sense. When you squish them in from the edges they deflect like a straw would. Despite the changes, I would buy these again in a heartbeat. For those that liked these in the past you'll like the "new" version.

It would be hard to find a better boot for the price, especially at the sale price I got them for. They are some of the best quality boots I have seen in a long time and very comfortable if you don't use the ball bearing instep lace eyelets. There are a some things that would make this boot better in my opinion though. There is a little too much material used in the tongue of the boot which makes it hard to neat up without bunching. I think round laces would work better in the small eyelets too, but that is something you can change out yourself for a cheap fix. They do have deep sole treads and they will pick up a lot of debris and small gravel so look out before wearing them inside!

I read reviews and talked to people who said these were great boots. That was nonsense. Unfortunately no one makes a woman's boot so we're stuck with buying men's. Well it must be the dudes that buy this boot have some big kankles because there's so much fabric around the ankle, I have to fold it over twice. These boots are heavy too. I was wearing the UA desert rat which are amazingly comfortable and light, unlike these. I wish I could return but I have already worn them for a week, hoping I could get over the design flaws.

I ordered this boot (in Sage green) to replace another pair of very comfortable but old boots that I had for a while. I've got to say that these boots were well worth the money. At first I wasn't sure about the sage green color, but when they arrived and I actually saw them I found that I really like this particular shade of green - the color is much better in real life than it was on my computer monitor. The quality and stitching seem excellent and I can't detect any visible flaws at all. They are extremely comfortable and sturdy. As far as sizing, I ordered a men's 9 regular and they fit my foot perfectly. For a comparison with other commonly available shoes, I wear a US men's 8 in Converse canvas high-tops and a US men's 9 in Doc Martens, and the sizing of these boots (in men's 9) fits spot on with a regular sports sock (and I think I can even use a thicker sock without any problem). The only thing that I did not care for was the eyelet with the ball-bearing at the instep - this was binding a bit at the instep and I had to skip this eyelet when lacing them up (this was a minor issue to me, and did not detract from my satisfaction with the boot).

Pros: Quality, sizing, comfort, price
Cons: None
Meh: Instep roller bearing eyelet

The Garmont T8s are Rugged (stiff for ankle support), Durable (Doesn't Fall Apart), Ventilation (Breathes and Dries Quickly, Drains Water Well), Weight (Light and comfortable). Has a "Ball Bearing" that relieves pressure by allowing you to adjust the laces in the forward part and upper part of the boot. Traction great on Mountain Rock and Flat Terrain. Great Boot for the Cost!

I am now on my second pair of the Coyote boots. The tan boots lasted a long time and took an incredible beating and helped me a lot at Benning. They are a perfect fit right out of the box. Very comfortable. The wide size suits me perfectly. Most comfortable boot ever made. Great for ruck marches, air assault and anything you can throw at them. The coyote boots I have were as comfortable but the leather wore out much faster. They looked shabby much faster to the point I can’t even take them to the field. I’m now using my old tan ones to the field and the second pair of coyote boots in garrison. Perfect boots. Will continue to purchase but just wish the brown color was as durable! I’m hoping I was just unlucky with that first pair
