I heard a lot about lowa shoes, so ordered my 1st pair and today i received it. At 1st look i loved the design and color as seen in the photos on the website. Then i tried it the hole day, it was very comfortable and pleasant to wear in high temperature weather (43-47 degrees Celsius in iraq).
I wasn't disappointed at all for the money i spent.

I like my Lowa Zephyr boots, which I've worn few years before buying the Tempest GTX. I used them for about a dozen light hikes around Tucson, AZ alternating with my Zephyrs for backpacks and where I needed more ankle support. I was sitting soaking my feet in Bright Angel Creek at the Phantom Ranch when I notice at a section of my sole was missing and ripped and looking at another 10 miles & 5000 feet back to rim of the Grand Canyon. Although the boots look and feel great, the quality control was very poor on these boots and I would not buy them again or recommended them for rugged terrain.

First of all the boots arrived well before I expected so bonus points there. I live in Seattle where it rains nine months out of the year, so being wet all the time is standard; feet bone dry and always warm. Plus they hold up in the shop where I work, lots of metal and oil and holy God who knows what else. So far these girls arent glamorous any more but they are hill billy hard and red neck rough. Love em.

I bought these in Aug 2014 and i can say that 8 months later they feel amazing and are the toughest pair of boots. Im stationed in Turkey right now during the winter months it gets pretty wet and cold, I accidently submerged them under water about 3/4th of the entire boot and i was waiting for my socks to be soaking wet but nothing, the gortex lining is on point. The summer months get really hot and these dont really burn up your feet. I recommended these to all my boys and quite a few of them have purchased them and love them.

These boots are lightweight, comfortable, breathable, and did I mention comfortable? I can't say enough great things about these boots. I will never waste my money on anything else again.

I have worn many boots over the years and know quality when I see it. These Lowa Zephyr GTX are very comfortable, light weight and breathe very well. They are comfortable right out of the box, although I did add some moldable footbeds to provide more arch support. These boots provide ankle stability yet are lightweight, almost like a sneaker. The are good for walking, hiking and running. I would recommend these to any & all. I plan on buying another pair to have on hand when these finally wear out.

These are my fourth pair of Lowa Zephyr boots. I wear them every day for work, and they are by far the most comfortable hiking boot imI have ever worn. They have seen evey type of obstacle along the way, putting up with miles of bushwacking and on-trail hiking. They keep my feet dry, supported and comfortable. They are worth every penny to have a dependable hiking boot that will last for years and stand up to every abuse!

I go through at least 1 set of boots per season where I live and work. It has been a battle just to get them broke in time for the next set.No break in time what so ever and I wear thin socks also. They fit like a glove and to top it off they are like a sport shoe for running....Im on the move a great deal of time and this is the best boot I have ever had on my feat.... Done !

Super light, excellent tread and very comfortable. I was between this and salomon and I'm very glad I went this route

Fitting note - I buy one full size up since these are European fit, and they are not forgiving if you have wide feet like me. They are not as narrow like Salomon but still on narrower European fitting. Be sure to try out if you can, or get two pairs if you are on the fence.

Bottom soles are nice and soft, but working on oily surface has turned them stiffer and slippery, can be some chemical that these sole material didn't like. If you work around oil / chemical like airfield or on boat, I would be careful.

These are my 4th pairs...For some reason the desert and coyote seem softer material than black which feel bulkier and harder.

Happy to ditch Salomon Quest for Lowa.
