The Oakley SI Light Assault 2 has the utilitarian features of a military boot, meeting the comfort and maneuverability of a training sneaker. The upper is made from flesh-out bovine leather and durable 1,000-denier Cordura that feels comfortable and broken-in right out of the box. An EVA midsole offers superior arch support, maintaining a comfortable stride and putting no extra pressure on your midfoot. Divots in the outsole make even the most treacherous work surfaces easy to tread. There is a molded EVA insole as well that offers continuous cushioning to keep you fresh on your feet. With a metal speed-loop lacing system and Lace Lock technology, this boot stays secure and snug to keep you focused on the mission, not your boots.

These are great boots!! That said It can be tough to get the lower part of my foot Into the bottom of the boot, so I have to end up loosening most all of the laces but that’s no biggie, it Just takes a little longer to get in/ out of them. Also the shoe laces are super long but I found that wrapping them around the ankle one time makes them about normal about regular length and actually adds support to the ankle! Maybe that was the idea? I want the medium assault boots! I love my Oakley boots!

I am currently on a deployment and needed a new pair of boots. I had been reading reviews and asking my peers about their Oakley’s. Well I received the Oakley’s, I probably wore them less than 30 mins and it was not comfortable at all. The boot was made for flat feet, the most uncomfortable boots that I have ever worn. Not only that but it irritated my heel to which It caused me to have a cut and blister on my heel. I had to purchase a new pair of boots. These boots may be extremely lightweight, but definitely not worth purchasing.

I ordered this boot in a size 8 since both my Nike and my Belleville boots are an 8. When I tried them on, the are definitely at least 1/2 size to a full size too big.

I also weighted them to see if they are lighter than my nike's. Turns out they are lighter by about 1/2 oz. per boot. Probably not enough to make a noticeable difference.

Either way, I have ordered them in both a 7 and 7.5 and will be sending whichever ones don't fit back along with the size 8's.

Boot is extremely light, insole padding is fairly thin but comfortable. It's easily replaced if you need more cushion. The material around the boot is thin so I'm expecting a little wear over time, but it breathes really well. The leather is good, and the side mesh reminds me of old jungle boots. Overall it feels more like a shoe than a boot and is breaking in really well, even in the short time I've had it.

I've only been wearing them for a week, but these boots are exactly what I hoped they'd be. They are extremely light in weight, very comfortable on the feet, and no break-in period necessary. I don't know why I waited this long to buy a pair. And TacticalGear.com had the best price I could find online. Thank you!!

These are by far the best combat boots I’ve ever worn. Extremely light, comfortable and good traction on many surfaces. My only complaint is that the laces are eight miles long. I cut 12” off each side (48” total) so I could tuck them in the way I like. This is a personal preference so I did not deduct any stars from the rating. As long as they hold up for at least a year I’ll be happy.

Pros:
Extremely light
Breathable
Grippy on concrete and asphalt
AR670-1 compliant
Cover your feet

Cons:
Flimsy
No ankle support
No arch support
Thin soles
Wear out quickly
Expensive for a low quality made in China boot

I bought these when the Army transitioned to OCP uniforms to replace my old Oakley Assault Boots thinking that I would get a similar quality product, but like most things Oakley over the past few years the quality has gone down while prices have gone up or stayed the same

I was strictly a Danner only kind of guy until I bought this boot. This boot definitely took the cake. It very comfortable easy to break into. It wasn't at any point uncomfortable. I'm definitely an Oakley only kind of guy

Great garrison boot did pre ranger and sniper tryouts for my bn and is over all good but for a deployment it average i’d Stick with the garmonts and rocky or bike but for running in landnav as a soldier the basic being infantry or pog these boots are exceptional in any event I wouldn’t however go tucking in these in desert or mountain climate for they get tore up quick and would roll ankle a lot but very good boots

I love the light weight and feel of these boots. They fit great, I recommend ordering a half size larger than your normal boot size. It will save you the extra cost of shipping but the return process is very easy. It has nice heel and ankle support but does not restrict movement even if they are tied snug. It seems to have no break in time and I have had no problems with the original sole. I have not field tested them yet but I don't anticipate any issues. I will write another review after testing them in the field. At the very least I can say these make great garrison boots, we will see how they hold up in the field.
