Men's Ridge 6" Air-Tac Mid Side-Zip Boots Tactical Reviews, Deals, Problems and Guides

This is and has been a very comfortable boot. I prefer quarter boots in the colder months over a taller boot. But like so many have said, on one boot after a year or less, the zipper failed. But not exactly the zipper. The fabric between the leather and the zipper ripped. The boots weren't exactly tight (although could have run wider). This was a couple years ago. I put some shoe goo and some other glue in the ripped part of the fabric. I set them aside for a couple years until the other day. I dug the glue out from the zipper as well as I could. I was finally able to close the zipper, although it won't go an further down than the zipper. I can use them as is, and hope the rip doesn't progress. The other complaint is the rubber sole on the sides separates from the leather to a degree. I thought about trying again, but now they don't appear to be available in 12 W, and not sure I want to give a dollar vote for a bad zipper design. That's a shame, they really are comfortable.

I HAVE OWNED 8 PAIRS, THER COMFORTABLE AND WOULD NOT BUY A BOOT ANYMORE WITH OUT SIDE ZIP.
BUT YOU ZIPPERS DONT LAST , PUT A BETTER QUALITY ZIPPER ON THEM..
I HAVE A 15 YEAR OLD COAT WITH A PLASTIC STYLE ZIPPER , BUT YOU CANT FIND A ZIPPER THAT LAST FOR 6 OR 7 MONTHS. I HAVE SENT BACK 4 PAIRS AT DIFFERENT TIMES FOR A BROKEN ZIPPER.
FIRE THE GUY THATS BUYING YOU ZIPPERS.
THE BOOTS SHOULD NOT OUT LAST THE ZIPPER, YOU CAN CROSS CHECK MY ADDRESS AND NAME AND SEE HOW MANY I HAVE SENT BACK , OVER THE YEARS..
I GOT 3 PAIRS IN MY GARAGE THAT ARE LIKE BED ROOM SLIPPERS WHEN YOU CANT ZIPP THEM UP.

I have left below knee amputation with a prosthetic, the left shoe/boot fit perfect and very secure over the artificial foot. Saved a lot of $$$$ money over ordering special shoes. Very satisfied with the fit and ability to walk. The zipper on the right boot seems a little difficult at times. No trouble with the left
zipper since I take my leg off at night. (a little humor)

Tacticalgear sent me the wrong boot and wrong size. They sent me the Ridge 6" All Leather Mid SZ not the Air Tac. Their Customer service gets an A+, Marie M was very helpful.

I am sending the boots back tomorrow. As for Ridge boots, this would have been my second pair; I already have a pair of the Ridge 3003Zs and love them.

I order wide but the were MUCH too small
I now have BATES that are the same size but fit fine. Tactical Gear issued credit but i paid the freight to try on a pair of boots

Love the boot, goes on and off easily. The zipper is a little small and hard to grip , I have to put my thumb behind it or it will hang up. Good boot for the money.

This is one the most comfortable boots that I have ever wore. I wear them for riding and working. In my job I walk a lot at work and can work all day

I am VERY HAPPY with my purchase. I purchased these boots 3 years ago and they have held-up great and they are the MOST comfortable work boots I owe.
I am on my feet all day on hard granite floors and these boots keep my feet comfortable (along with thick socks). =)

Boots were 1" taller than the last 3 pair I purchased, Had to return them. Was very disappointed with boots.

I am 6'8" 300 lbs. I am on my feet 7 out of 8 hrs. a day. Doing security at a Northern Ky Airport. I would not be able to do my job if not for these shoes.
