The Ridge 6" Desert Storm SZ is a rugged, high-performance boot engineered for the modern tactical operator. The slip-resistant outsole is made of 1A carbon rubber for superior traction and stability, even across rocky and uneven terrain. To ensure maximum durability, these boots are made from an ultra-strong blend of suede leather and ripstop nylon. The polyurethane midsole provides critical underfoot support and continuous cushioning, while promoting positive energy return with every step. The removable Tru Fit EVA insole reduces overall foot fatigue when the boot is worn for extended periods of time. There is also a composite shank built in to stabilize the heel and ankle when running, climbing or crouching. Reinforced by double and triple stitching, this boot will last you for years to come.

Having worn various Converse side-zips for years, I was disappointed when they stopped production, even more so with the Reebok lookalikes. First, I have a bunch of foot problems (surgically reattached foot/traumatic arthritis, bone spurs, hammer toes, plantar fasciitis - GO INFANTRY!). Second, I wear orthotics and cushions for my wide and very flat feet.
I thought for sure the Ridge boot was too narrow when I pulled them out of the box, but them were comfortable after the first lap around the living room. With the orthotics and cushions, my feet are in heaven. After a month of " garrison duty" they are my go-to footwear.

I had never heard of this brand until I was looking for a new pair of boots to replace some 5.11''s that blew out the side. The reviews were what convinced me to give them a try. They are light comfortable and fit well. I needed a wide boot and these fit the bill. So far I'm very happy with them. I think they will hold up but only time will tell. I'm giving them 4 stars just because I haven't had them long enough to see how they last but I would recommend them at this point.

Ordered "wide" and received "wide." In my experience it seems a common assumption that if one orders a size 13 boot that there is little need to pay attention to the "wide" or "extra wide" designation and it is often overlooked by military boot makers who sometimes claim they never offered the boot in "wide" ranges to begin with (so the fault must be my own). This DSSZ boot is lightweight, of substantial construction and the zip feature makes it convenient and adds an interesting aspect to the appearance. The well-padded interior is an added bonus for long-distance hiking. Price was right too. Now we'll see how it wears. So far, so good.

I usually wear a twelve and a half shoe. On my third try, a size 14 wide, I got a pair that fits great, very comfortable all day. So be careful of the size. The zipper is questionable. My old Bates combat boots had a large half inch plastic zipper that was indestructible. This one is.very tight, probably water tight, but it was sticky right out of the box. I treat the zipper before each use with a water proof bike chain lube. So far, so good. The zipper also has no lock, just a Velcro tab that is useless. A few times a day you will wonder why your boot is slipping and find the zipper down. It can’t cost much to put a lock on a zipper pull. I hope someone reads this and can make these cheap fixes.

Good boot. Lugs on the sole are a bit big and grab dirt and mud like a hooker on Saturday night. A bit of time must be spent to get the laces just right so you can zip them up and there snugg but don't feel to tight. I recommend you get them laced up so they feel good after you zip them up. Then fill up your bath tub and take them for a dip. After there throughly soaked! Wear them all day and night till dry. It will soften the leather and let the boot mold to your foot.

I have bought these in the past.. Wear them everyday. They start breaking down after about a year (for me anyway) but still worth the money. The first pair, after about 6 months, the zipper would not hold, separated about midway down the boot. They were a little tight on me, I have a high instep. Now I don't cinch them down so much. Since then I have had no problems. (Not recommended for combat, failure of the zipper would suck) Hope this helps-out someone.

I ordered 6” boots, not sure where they measure from on boots cause ones I received seem like 8”, however they were confortable and light weight. Wore them inside for a day with thinner socks, then with cotten blend half day. Nice! Wear them as my everyday outside boots, really like the way zipper starts lower on foot towards your big toe. Come off easily when unzipped or will also stay on for fast venting... I’d recommend them to others...

True to size. Comfortable right out of the box. Excellent arch support and toe box room. On and off twice and they felt "broken-in." The SZ makes these as easy to put on and take off as a loafer or pair of slippers. Lace them once and forget-it until any minor adjustments are needed after the adaptation to your own foot and sock thickness. A jungle green would be a color the company should consider.

These boots have been my go-to daily wear boots for over two years now. I used them while hunting on SE Montana two years ago also. The quick on/off are a huge selling point for me. I've never had one blister on my feet with these boots from day one. I use an aerosol Saphir Renevatour leather conditioner (for suede) on them, as well as the Saphir aerosol water proofing treatment for suede. I also use a suede brush on them. The deer blood stain on the toe brushed out and is not visible two years later. I've never experienced zipper failure, although, after two years' worth of wear I may have a little zipper creep by the end of the day (one day a month). These boots are a joy to have on my hooves. At 300 lbs., I've put these boots to the test. Mine are still wearing well, considering buying a new pair just to be sure I have another pair at the ready. I'm even running the original laces in them.

This is my 2nd pair of boots they arrived sooner than expected .nothen like a nice shinny pair for the holidays. I use these boots for work on my knees all day installing base board and they hold up to draging the toe all day have not started to come apart yet . All my other boots would be tearing apart at the toe by now. Where them all day and feel great Tactical gear.com keep up the great work
