When I was choosing a boot for my return to security I took great care to balance quality, value, and comfort. To reduce the cost I went with the non-zipper version of this. I was impressed how quickly it was broken in. In the few cold days we've had so far it is quite warm and kept me try on very wet evening. Yes, not having the zipper takes more time get ready or when the boots come off.

Overall, a nice, comfortable boot. I got the waterproof/no side zipper per the review of another on this boot. They come with what I would call the "old fashioned" style of nylon/cloth shoe strings which are a little more difficult to adjust than the "new fang-dangled" paracord strings but, stay tied better. I live down here in Texas, it's February and they're a bit warm but, I think it's tolerable. Besides, lightweight and comfy trumps hot and stinky.

I needed a good pair of boots for a weekend hunting trip and these Rocky AlphaForce filled the bill perfectly. Walked all day hunting Pheasant and Quail without any discomfort. The waterproof feature was nice when stepping through creeks and streams. I may get the 6 inch version for work.

Comfortable and practical... The aggressive tread is excellent when having to walk up and down road ditches in the rain!!! The only downside I could say right now is they are almost too warm for summer.
