I tend to go ‘commando’ a lot, so my only real complaint is the material around the waistband can be irritating in a very short amount of time. But that’s my personal issue.

Beyond that, these things are top notch all around. The material, the stitching, and the fit are perfect.

I will mention one other thing that seems off. The knife pocket is oddly placed. When I sit down, I can tell the knife is nestled under my thigh. It’s mildly uncomfortable and the knife is difficult to pull out in a hurry.

I bought a pair of these in Khaki a few weeks ago and liked them so much that I ordered another pair in Navy. The cargo pockets aren't quite as big and bulky as in the 24-7 lightweight tactical shorts giving these shorts a more trim look. Don't get me wrong, I love the 24-7 shorts too, and I wear them all the time. But these are a little neater and I love the separate cell phone pocket.

Light weight, comfortable and plenty of pockets for every day use! I live in south Texas and it is hot and humid for most of the year. I'm retired so I wear shorts 90% of the time. These shorts look good enough to wear everyday and not look to casual as some run of the mill cargo shorts. I like them so much just ordered another pair! I also have the pants version of the ascent design!

I now own 5 pair of Tru-Spec Ascent Shorts, my favorite EDC platform when outside the home. Features 2 drop-in-behind either front cargo pockets for cellphones/other items, large enough to easily accommodate an iPhone Xs Max with room to spare. The two nicely reinforced magazine/knife slots just behind either front slash pocket are large enough to accommodate up to a larger caliber magazine (e.g., a .45 caliber). Wide belt loops provide excellent belt support at the waist; deep front slash pockets. This series of shorts are professional looking and feature a waistband that stretches on the sides. All around, a great well-designed and thought out tactical short that's dressy and very practical for all your EDC equipment.

I have been wearing Tru spec for a couple years now started with their light weight shorts, 24/7 series but I have to say these are going to be my go-to shorts for work. In fact I wish I would have found them sooner these are GREAT for south florida heat....

I bought this shorts for my husband. He loves the material but the inseam was a little short. I wouldn't have purchased them if I knew the inseam was less than 10". Other than that, he loves the pockets and the material is very cool and not clingy.

Light, cool, great for hot Louisiana summers. I like the horizontal part of the front pockets, allows a pocket knife to hang properly in the pocket.
Great useable pockets, but without looking like Tactical Timmy "dressier".

I dont order much from this site, but when I do, I'm always pleased with their customer service and fast normal shipping. These Ascent shorts are excellent for hot FL weather. The waist is extremely comfy and the pocket arrangement is perfect (including the slip in / out pocket that easily holds a Samsung phone). I'd recommend the the Ascent pants as well (less costly & more comfortable than 5-11).

Comfortable, color selection is good, good amount of pockets and pockets are secure. Other than that the addition of another belt loop and a little respacing would be handy.(for CCW purposes)
