The 24-7 Series Tactical Softshell Jacket is made to be comfortable and adaptable to your line of work. This jacket features a roomy design so that it can be worn comfortably over a holstered firearm or ballistic vest and uses a polyester fabric, making it lightweight and water resistant. The side seam zippers allow for quick access to your torso or duty belt, so you can be ready to draw a firearm or other gear at a moment's notice. Two rear zipper pockets and two angled waist pockets offer plenty of room for storing small accessories. This jacket will keep you warm and dry without bunching up or weighing you down.

After doing a ton of research I decided to try this jacket out based on all of the features that it presents. What initially sparked my interest was the side zip pockets that go from the bottom of the jack and up the side about 12". I do not necessarily always like to have my shirts tucked in so wearing a firearm could get a little uncomfortable a lot of the times. Finally Blackhawk! came out with their jacket slot low ride holster which solved the shirt problem, but jackets still were awkward. This jacket 100% solves that problem as well. I am able to unzip the side zip so the jacket lies on either side of the firearm without bunching or the jacket riding high above your belt line. The jacket is supposed to fit a little more slim line so you can wear body armor over it (which also feels great) so I ended up getting an XL (5'9, 190 lbs in shape) after realizing that the L was not so comfortable. Even with the XL it is not too big, the side zip is still in a good position and body armor can still be worn over it without bunching. I gave the L to my finance and while it is pretty big on her she loves it and wears it every time we hit the mountains. The sleeves are indeed pretty long especially for me since I have a little shorter than average arms, but I rolled up the sleeves and it almost looks like it is supposed to be like that for how good it still looks and feels. All in all this is a jacket you should not pass up. Combine Tru Spec's 24-7 series waterproof shell which also has the side zip and you have a versatile 3-1 jacket ready for anything!

Bought to replace an older lower quality soft shell, this jacket screamed quality the moment I opened the package. I'm 5'10 200lbs and bought the large. I thought it would be tight after reading other reviews but it's perfect. I have very long arms and the cuff sits perfectly. It a surprisingly warm Jacket given all the internal pockets are mesh lined. The zippers all have rubber flaps to cover the 'teeth' of the zipper. There's and internal flap cover the main jacket zip to keep out wind and rain. I wore a sweater and this jacket during the cold snap in MD and I was a little warm while working outside. Of course it has a sharp look if your interested in that kind of thing and the arm patches are a nice touch. The sleeve pockets are fantastic and roomy. I have butt killing wallet and it goes in the sleeve pocket with room to spare. (My syatic nerve thanks me) the pockets have dual zipper so they can be opened up or down depending on preference. The vent pockets are fantastic and enable quick access to a holstered side arm. I feel I could holster a 92fs and it not imprint. The only thing that I didn't like was there was no zipper pull, as in the piece of cord that loops into the zipper pull. But I'm going to put my own on. All in all top notch. TacticalGear.com delivered quick turn around, great service and a great product as ever. Pick one up! I'm going to get another in Coyote.

Hi all. This is my second one, with Velcro loop and without. The color Coyote is just right, for casual use. I know some use this for tactical, but casual long lasting jacket at less then 1/3 the cost. I own much more expensive jackets at quadruple or more the cost, Goretex, and all. This is just as good quality product for daily use.
Must understand what you are getting: a mid-level jacket that can be part of a good layering system.

Pros:

Nice fit, order one larger if worried.
Polyester easily washable.
Pocket layout (strange) but usable when you get use to it.
Breathable (if you understand material, layering and activity levels).
Stowable.
Water resistant (not waterproof).
Nontapered waist, looks like to me, longer in back, 1 inch.

Cons:

Tight long sleeves (got used to them easy on-off).
No pull tabs, zipper handle to small (added some).

This jacket is water resistant, not WaterProof! Several hours in light sprinkle or 1/2 to 1 hour in heavey downpour dries quickly inside home.
Activity level moisture dependent on what you are doing. Sitting and mild levels stays prertty dry. Chopping wood or running around woods, you will get wet clammy inside jacket. Opening zippers helps a little with moisture.

It is usable for LE, range and tacical stuff.

I bought two of these jackets one for myself and one for my brother. They are just as advertised extremely durable and the fit is perfect. They have lots of pockets and they repelled water very well. I highly recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a comfortable and durable jacket that looks awesome.

What can I say about Tru-Spec...awesome products as always! I love TS clothing. It's all so great. This jacket is so utilitarian and sharp looking! WOW! The adjustability of it all, the zippers to vent, the zippers to access what underneath of the jacket, the gasket zippers, the comfort...wow This jacket can be super warm when all 'sealed up' or super airy and breathable when you need a light jacket. It looks really really sharp! If you're familiar with them, this is the jacket version of Tru-spec's xpedition pants. So awesome! !!
I'm 6'2" 175lbs and I bought a medium. It fits me perfectly and I love it. Thanks to this site and Tru-Spec for another great product and fast delivery! Love both of your companies. The clothing geniuses at Tru-Spec deserve a huge round of applause! Thanks Folks!

For a 3X jacket, you would think the sleeves would not fit like yoga pants on a soccer mom. You cannot wear anything of substance for layers under it, (Just the Arms). You have to stuff your arms down the sleeves and fight it to feel comfortable. Not a good buy overall. The material is good, zippers are good, center body fits good.

Great jacket. Not quite sure why they made the front pocket zippers so long, but I do love the two-way zippers. I added some zipper pulls but this is just my preference. Sleeves are as advertised and tight to the arm. All in all, thrilled with my purchase. Wish they made one in OD.

24-7 softshell tactical jacket does fit exactly as they say; arms are longer than others, tail of the back is also a bit longer and very warm as a result. Perfect weapon-carry system. Not a bad choice for a motorcycle rider who will carry a weapon. I will now buy one n black!
