The Good:
Excellent construction, quality materials, zippers and fasteners. Plenty of pockets, especially like the "drop-in" pocket behind the front left cargo pocket. The expanding waist is a major plus. Stretch panels add to the comfort of the shorts. Front slash pockets are nice and deep and are made of stretchy material.
The Bad:
The belt loops are on the small side. It's a struggle to get a 1-1/2" tactical belt thru the belt loops. The Ascent short has better belt loops. Even with all the pockets, I miss the dedicated left and right "knife/flashlight" pocket as on the Ascent short. Yes, there is a re-enforced flat section on the left and right slash front pockets.
The Ugly:
The zippered fly opening is so small as to be non-functional. In order to relieve oneself you have to undo the button and snaps, and unbuckle your belt if you are wearing one. For me, this is a fatal flaw that makes an otherwise good product very inconvenient if not unusable.

the fit is for females / my waist is not up around my chest / it is below my belly button. the fabric is very noisy - not very tactical ! / there is nothing forgiving about the crotch when sitting or having to stretch out for a foot hold.

tru-spec quality. really well made, very comfortable, well thought out design. I wasn't sure how the slide waist band would work out, but now I don't understand why all bottoms don't have it. Waiting to see how they break in.

Super comfortable, well made,stretch waist is great. After reading some negative reviews I was a little worried to order these. Found the fly to be fine and I have a 1 1/4inch slide belt, works just fine. Unless your thighs are rubbing against each other there wasn’t any noise when walking, total bs. Best shorts I have ever bought, will be buying more.

Good fit and finish BUT a little too expensive to be practical enough to own 2 or 3 pair.
