The TRU-SPEC H2O Proof Gen 2 ECWCS Parka gives you military-grade protection from the elements. The advanced three-layer nylon material keeps out wind and water while staying breathable, keeping you dry and comfortable in any weather condition. The environmentally safe, high-quality Bemis seam tapes prevent water from leaking in at the seams. Easily adjust the fit of the hood, waist and sleeve cuffs for an additional barrier from wind and rain. Dintex lining adds an extra layer of waterproofing and breathability, while zippered openings in the underarm increases ventilation. This jacket not only protects, it also performs well with nylon-reinforced elbows and pockets for stowing essential tools. If you're operating in cold conditions, this jacket is also compatible with TRU-SPEC's zip-in Polar Fleece (not included). Don't let the weather slow you down with the H2O Proof Gen 2 ECWCS Parka.

I bought this in multicam along with the zip-in fleece liner on sale from TacticalGear.com for a total of $160.00. I just received it today and it far exceeded my expectations. I bought one in coyote brown 3 years ago, and the quality of this newer multicam parka is vastly improved. First off, it was not made in China (it was made in Indonesia), and the quality shows. The left and right internal map pockets used to have Velcro closures (which I hate), but they now have really nice zipper closures. The lower adjustable ziplock cord no longer hangs from the bottom hem. Instead, its hidden in the hand warmer pockets, so you can make adjustments with your hands in your pockets. I'm an active duty Army officer and plan to wear this parka and liner with my OCP ACUs during my cold and wet trips in and out of the Pentagon. The shell is comparable to the OCP official issue shells, which aren't even out in the military clothing sales stores yet. On top of that, it's about $50 cheaper AND includes a zip-in fleece liner. Yes, there is a logo on the back under the collar, but I will color it out with a sharpie and keep the hood out to cover it. Highly recommend...fits true to size. I will post more after first field test!

I loved the jacket and the fleece liner but the sizing chart does not tell you that the jacket runs big. I normally where a large/extra large in jackets so ordered the xl long and I swear this was more like a 2xl or bigger. So i returned for the large long and hoping this fits better. Anyway - awesome jacket and very warm with the liner. Excellent construction and roomy and plentiful pockets. I like the adjustable cuffs and ventilation in arms. Even without the fleece liner this jacket is great for Atlanta weather. Cannot wait to get my replacement jacket and give it a workout. I will come back and update this review. However, I think this is an excellent jacket.

The fit is generous, accommodating the layers and equipment I wear underneath. I stay dry in this parka and I wear it in a broad range of temps. I do wish the hand-warmer pockets had a little larger clearance for those many times I have non-skid gloves on; it's not a complaint, they still fit my gloved hands, just not in a "sloppy" draw manner. The weather flaps, one on each side are double protection compared to the majority of jackets out there. The flap pockets are very generous too. The best part for me is the quiet operation! Snaps on the front, all the zippers that is as smooth as silk - and quiet. Did I mention this is a quiet coat... it is very quiet. Likewise the collar gives superior comfort, it is generous enough to wear a balaclava and still have room for a scarf inside that protective collar. The arm vents to have smooth zippers and they run to my elbow and a long way down my trunk. Light weight. Great quality and price value too! I love it.

This goretex got its first field test from me, last week and it was great. I bought the fleece liner to go with, and it definitely keeps you warm with out needing much else underneath. For fit, from experience with a much older version in UCP, I went up from the medium long to the large regular, and the large reg fits great on me: I am 5'9, 180lbs. It is a parka style, so it did need to be adjusted with the drawstrings on the inside and around the collar in order to fit better.
Overall: if you are looking for a jacket that will perform in the cold/wet environment, this one is a great fit, and I do recommend it.

I guess i will get the only negative i can say out of the way, not as built for cold weather as i thought; as another reviewer said, a "hardcore" rain coat. Definatly will not get wet in this, unless you literally jump into water. Which if you read carefully, there is a seperate zip-in fleece for warmth(sold seperate) but i also bought a truspec softshell jacket. My normal habit being a hoodie and leather jacket. So being replaced by softshell jacket and this. So the combo worked fine for me, but i may even purchase the zip-in fleece for extreme temps.
As for size, im that weird in between i get some medium and some large clothing, and definatly go the smaller side if youre like me, this thing is spacious. Overall well deserved 5 stars and a loyal truspec customer now! And tactical gear!

During a recent snow storm I borrowed my son's Carhartt waterproof parker. It is a high quality piece of equipment in both material and craftsmanship, but comes at a price. I decided on a True Spec parker based on positive reviews and ownership of other True Spec products. The ECWCS parker is also of high quality and material. However; the material is a little stiffer and tends to be a little restrictive in movement, and the snap that holds the liner at the collar doesn't hold very well. Other than that the ECWCS will keep you dry and warm and for the price you can't go wrong.

The TRU-SPEC H20 ECWCS Parka is good for what it is and I would have given it 5 stars if not for the fundamental design differences between it and what it replaced. The ECWCS system is not a parka, in fact it is little more than a raincoat. If you order this do yourself the favor of ordering the zip-in fleece that is sold separately because in any type of cold or really cool weather, you will need it. I do not fault TRU-SPEC for this in any way and I am sure they did everything they could with this design to make it as good as possible. I wish that the old school M-65 was available in OCP because it is the superior platform, but that is just this old soldiers opinion.

Purchased for use as a dedicated rain coat and it appears to fill the role well. I've only had it a week, but worn it in the rain a few times and have stayed dry. There's a lot of adjustments built in to the coat so you can 'fine tune' it to your liking. Seems to run slightly large for its size, but living in New England I'm sure I will be layering heavier clothes under it, so it'll work. Tru-Spec looks to have a good product here....hopefully it holds up long term.

I bought this to replace an older one of the same maker after it lost its waterproof seal, but this Jacket is much superior in every way. I appreciate how all the fasteners are looped inside the pockets and don't get snagged on anything. The way the hood is adjustable so it doesn't cover my face in the rain, and the additional pockets so I can carry my gloves, flashlight, and weather mask.
