Designed with a universal print to work over all terrains, the TRU-SPEC Nylon / Cotton Ripstop ACU Coat is a highly functional military garment. Made from a 50/50, vat-dyed blend of nylon and cotton ripstop, this coat features two slanted pockets on the chest with hook and loop closures to safely store small accessories. The external elbow pockets feature easy-access hook and loop openings for use with elbow pad inserts. Hook and loop fasteners on the front accomodate name and rank patches, while a zippered, hook and loop front placket maintains a neat, professional uniform appearance. To keep out debris and protect your neck, the mandarin collar is able to be worn up or down. Comfortable and highly functional, this coat makes an excellent addition to your uniform.

I bought this from a local shop, brand new, TRU-Spec brand. It cost me almost x2 what Military Gear is charging. I wore it a few days a month, if I knew I'd be out all day, and needed to carry extra stuff, or sometimes for school. After 7 months both zippers broke off rather easily. At the time I didn't mind, but I did like them, and missed them later. The fabric was holding up well. I had it on in some rain (no other jacket on hand), and for some time in the woods, hot and cool weather. The pockets are superior to other BDUs, and the velcro suffices to keep the front closed as long as you don't need it for serious use. So unless you need it for legitimate uniform reasons, I would elect a different jacket. If you really want UCP, maybe the cotton version they offer is worth considering.
