TRU-SPEC's Tactical Response Uniform (TRU) pants are crafted from 65% polyester / 35% cotton ripstop fabric in order to hold up in the harshest conditions. The design is loosely based off the U.S. Military Army Combat Uniform in order to ensure combat-ready functionality and performance. However, key features have been updated to give the user a tactical edge. For example, these 10-pocket trousers are designed symmetrically for easy pocket access no matter your dominant hand. The pockets feature hook-and-loop closure and reinforced openings ensuring they hold up nicely and store equipment securely. Designed for specifically gpt SWAT, SRT and special response teams, but versatile enough to function in a variety of roles, TRU pants are top-of-the-line trousers.

These pants are very comfortable. They are light, and breathable. The ripstop material adds a nice layer of protection. For any combat situations, or just messing around, I highly recommend these pants.

The Tru-Spec TRU pants I received are outstanding in terms of quality. They have held up to some serious abuse and field use. I have two points of contention though: 1) If you order these and are more familiar with the traditional BDU style of pants, order one size smaller than usual for your waist. I wear a 32" waist, so normally I would purchase a Medium as I did with these, but after receiving them, I discovered that they are VERY generous with their sizing scale so I had to use A LOT of the drawstring to cinch them to a proper fit... Which leads me to my second point of complaint. 2) The drawstring... :-( I feel it would be MUCH better if these pants had traditional pull tabs (similar to the "Old School" BDU's of my younger days) instead of the internal drawstring at the waist. Even if the suggested pull tabs were locked down by hook and loop instead of friction buckles, they would provide a serious improvement to the current method of size adjustment. I actually sewed on some pull tabs that I cannibalized from a very old and worn out set of BDU's I had, and I am much happier with the way I can now "fit up" my TRU's. Perhaps it's just personal preference, but I think this would add to the overall performance... Other than those minor issues, I would (and HAVE) recommend these pants to anyone who operates out in the suck.

Why 2-stars. I'm sure the material is great, the camo pattern is cool, but the pants are useless. I am 5'10" and 162 lbs and wear a 32/32 size pants; therefore, I ordered a Medium/Regular. The chart states that this size will fit up to a 32/32. WRONG! A medium/regular is sized for someone who is at least a 38 waist and 6'4" tall. In most stores this is a large/tall, so you need to offset the size in length and waist.

A word of warning. I have another pair of Tru-Spec medium/regular pants that fit perfectly, so don't use a size you have as reference, they are not cut the same. It's disappointing because the knee pad pockets are actually shin pad pockets and the lower leg pockets are ankle pockets.

Armed with this knowledge, perhaps you can make a decision and select the wrong size to fit you, but that's a guessing game. Although Tacticalgear.com will take returns, it's was going to cost me $20 to ship back. That's 1/3 the cost of the pants. If I make the decision to buy these pants again, I'll go to a store. Sorry Tacticalgear, it's not you, but your charts are absolutely wrong.

I've bought several pair of these in the past (thru uscav.com), and like the lightweight feel, flexibility, and durability of them (never was a big fan of wearing jeans to work). the large size of the pockets and the number of pockets (there are pockets inside pockets!) is helpful too. it has a little cell-phone sized pocket by the ankle that I use to store my phone. uscav.com (mentioned above) would take months to fulfill my order. I ordered these (on this site) just before Christmas with "no rush" shipping, and surprisingly, they arrived Christmas eve day! overall, these are excellent quality pants!

They are what I was looking for in trousers for my work as a private security officer. I gave the product a five star rating, but it is based on the quality of the trousers. My only complaint is that I am five feet four inches tall with a twenty-nine inch inseam. Thus these trousers at the regular length are long enough that the hem of the pant legs end just past my toes. Now I wear these bloused with my boots, but due to the length difference the knee pad pockets actually rest on my shins. I don't know if Tru-Spec makes these in a shorter length or not, but I would like them to.

I like the color and the extra pockets. Velcro is noisy. The size of the pants is different than what is shown on the website. I wear 34/34 pants and med/long BDU's. The size chart for the TRU pants indicates med waist to fit 32-34 and long is 34. Perfect. I ordered and received a med/long TRU. But the tag sewn in the pants reads 31-35 waist and 35.5 length. These things are pretty big on me. I bought them for casual wear but they may get used for work. I'm a little disappointed. Even on sale they are quite a bit more money than the BDU pant I wear at work.

This is my third pair of them, not because the fall apart but because there definitely my favourite pants. I am extremely tough on them as there used for camping, work, hiking, really everything. There's lots of pocket room and if you like the military design for pants but also with black for a colour choice these are what you want. They've got all the same pockets, the draw strings (waste line, ankle ties and stretchy cargo pocket string). There designed in a summer ripstop nylon and have the velco knee pad pockets as well (knee pads sold separately) however the military issue knee pads fit perfectly.

I only wish they came in winter weight as well as summer weight.

I bought my first pair based on the reviews of those who claimed the pants were too large and advised that you get a size smaller. Dumb mistake, the pants came and they were true to size, they were too small for me, I had to return them, Tacticalgear, was great about refunding, absolutely no hassle. Ordered the right size and they fit perfectly. These are very good pants, well made and Tactical shipped them fast, the refund was quicker than expected. Will be buying more in the future.

Just what I have been looking for in the style of pants for work. However, I got the wrong size and will have to return the pairs I have in exchange for large/regular instead of extra large/regular. My own fault. Other than that mistake, on my part, the product arrived in a timely matter and was exactly what I ordered. Will definitely continue to shop here and recommend shopping here to everyone I know.

I love these pants, I first bought a pair in the multicam and loved them compared to the original woodland tru spec fit and build. I bought them mainly for the more options such as the pocket design and knee pad insert pockets. I use these for work and I couldn't ask for a better pair. I feel these compare to the 511 brand no problem.
