What's all the hype about? Vertx Phantom Lightweight Tactical Pants. And when we say lightweight, we mean it. The style weighs in with 6.5 ounce fabric—roughly less than half the weight of your favorite blue jeans. The improved fabric provides a softer feel and is extremely functional with its wrinkle-resistant and stain-resistant characteristics. Plus, there is a liquid repellent on the outer surface. The reduced leg volume provides a more athletic fit, while the articulated knees, waistband, rise and crotch give you the unencumbered mobility that's crucial to performing your job. With their sleek performance, these tactical trousers help you move from the field to the office with no wardrobe change.

I love the construction of these pant. With that being said. The sizing I would have to say not so good. The width of the legs are way to wide. As you can see in the picture the waist is a perfect fit. Any smaller in the waist and it would be to tight. I did take into account that I got the length wrong should have went with a 32 length. To give you a size comparison I'm 6'1 260lbs. My jean size I wear 42/34 these pant you can afford to downsize. I'll be keeping them seeing as they'll be my work pant.

Five stars! These pants are the best I've had in a long time. Extremely light, but durable! Great pocket design, no buttons, no velcro! Just a few design recommendations:
1) put the concealed zipper pockets on both sides. This enables conceal carry persons to have their permit on the opposite side from the pistol. This will help put the LEO more at ease and reduce your chances of being shot when reaching for your id.
2) put two inner mag pockets instead of one inside the main cargo pocket.
3) have shorter inseam choices. There are lots of shorter people out there.
In addition, you can't go wrong with this company! Their customer service is superior! Big shout out to Jess and Nikki!

I’ve been looking for a good quality pair of tactical style pants, that aren’t overboard on the tactical, and fit well. These pants do a pretty good job. I’m a small slender build 5’3” and 125#, and this makes it hard to find good clothing that doesn’t fit like it’s 3 sizes too big. I’ve tried other tactical pants from the major brands and they swallow me. These pants fit true to size (as based on blue jeans that fit me well) and look really good. I ordered one pair to “try” and have ordered more. The only thing I would improve upon is placement of rear pockets, they sit a little to low causing me to sit on my wallet.

Materials and construction: 5 stars - the material is excellent quality, the stitching and seams are flawless - true, straight, inside and out.
Pockets: 5 stars - easy-access, QUIET! no Velcro, no buttons, no zippers, very discreet and all pockets lie flat. Note: this pant has fewer total pockets than other pants (including other Vertx such as the Phantom OPS and the Fusion), but for my uses, all pockets are actually useable - the side tool pockets are just enough lower than on the OPS, for example, for the pocket not to 'bend' with the hip joint when crouching/squatting; the front pockets are vertical, not horizontal as on the Fusion - I can use the front pockets on the LT, while i can barely get a hand into the Fusion front pockets while wearing those pants.
Fit: the note about 'a more athletic fit' compared to the older VTX 8000 LT is accurate! These are a much closer fit through the hip and through the leg. They look much 'cleaner', not loose and baggy like a typical tactical pant, but the material in these pants is NOT a mechanical stretch; it is a standard ripstop. For me, they get pretty tight across the hip/butt area when crouching or squatting. A size up in the waist may free up the fit through the hip and leg...

These Vertx pants have superb fit, style, details & overall construction. Tendency for such pants can be slightly ‘oversized’ / baggy, but not these Vertx pants! I’m classic 38”x30” size (200 lbs) & Vertx fit for me is very accurate. Fabric has good balance between lightweight / durability / comfort....but will monitor over longer term use. All pocket details well thought out / located & have a streamlined feel without sacrificing function....credit to Vertx designers! A great brand choice for your search in this product category!

I purchased 6 of these going off of the quality reputation and fit of another pair of vertex I borrowed on shift one day. These were not the same ones. The quality was there but fit was awkward. Fit waist and length but were super tight in the thighs and seat. I have larger sized legs but not wildly disproportionate and these were not comfortable. Seemed extremely well built though

Size was as expected, as was fit. My job provides me with a second cell phone. These cargo pants have the best phone pockets I've found, on both legs. The 2.0 version that these pants are features separate knife/multitool pockets that are a nice addition to an already well-designed product. The fabric is very tough, yet light. I'm just now starting to wear out my previous pair of Vertx pants after 2 years of weekly work wear in all conditions. My only complaint on the design is that they could use extra and repositioned belt loops. Tacticalgear.com's price was as good as any around.

I like them so far, they're light and breathable. I work on a airport ramp in Texas, so these are a lot cooler than my regular jeans in the Texas summer. Only thing is they seem to run a bit long. I'm 5'6 and ordered the 30 inseam, which my I figured would be good enough...thats what I usually wear in my jeans, but by the end of the night I was stepping on them with my heels. That's the shortest they offer...so I'm going to have hemed up a little. Other than that I like them very much.

Nice pair of pants, I really like the fact that the cargo pocket sit flush and dont stick out unless something in there, But I was hoping since they were advised as lightweight that could be worm during summer months, but too heavy and hot for that, I have washed twice and still are very stiff, almost like that are over starched. They do dry fast and repeal stills. and stay very wrinkle free if you pull out of dryer after 20 min and hang up. I will use in fall and spring for sure

The Vertx Phantom LT pants are my every-day-wear in the office. The quality & price is better than Dockers. I like the fit. The rise is somewhat higher than jeans allowing the pants to be worn slightly higher on the hips. The fit in the thigh area is somewhat slimmer than other tactical pants. I like the many pockets available for pens, cell phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, reading glasses, etc. The quality of the zipper, pockets, stitching and reinforcement stitching is fantastic. I have a pair in every color!
