I really want to like this bag but it has failed me, Twice.

First to describe the usage my bag sees. I carry less than 5lbs from my house to vehicle then into work, never seen rain or any harsh enviorments. Has never been overloaded or abused, again just a daily work carry bag and that’s it.

My first bag just one month past the warranty had the main zipper seperate from the bag, the stitching failed. The bag was useless once the zipper seperated as it couldn’t be closed. I contacted proper who were very friendly and helpful and after sending pictures and explaining the failure they replaced the bag. It was beyond warranty so they went above and beyond to get me a replacement bag and were very supportive and great from a customer service view point.

Almost one year later under the same use conditions the shoulder straps have failed. The majority of the time I sling the bag over my right shoulder and the top stitching has started to fail on the right strap. Then, oddly the left shoulder strap which sees much less use and always sharing the weight of the bag with the right strap, it failed suddenlt. The bottom stitching where the lower strap attaches to the upper padding portion ripped free. I notice it only had a single row stitching which seemed lacking considering it is a load point. The way it ripped free I don’t have an easy way to reattach it.

So now I have 2 bags in otherwise perfect condition but unusable due one having a failed zipper and the other a failed shoulder strap. Both seeming to be caused from poor or just lacking enough stiching. The bag has been otherwise great, the material has held up and shows no signs of wear. The pockets and overall design has been ideal. However, I can’t go back and purchase this bag again. At the cost it shouldn’t fail after 1 year of light duty usage.

I can’t give it anything but the lowest raiting because of the total failures leaving the bag useless, twice.

The bag itself is really well designed. The rugged materials are great and the zippers are top notch, but they could have payed more attention to the straps. I have not had this bag for no more than a month and they’re already ripping off! I don’t usually carry the back pack with only one strap, not do I carry excessively heavy stuff, so why are the straps coming off? The straps are the main purpose of a backpack! Now I am 5 days before going on deployment and thinking about buying another backpack that will actually last the whole trip instead of focusing on other stuff.

I use this backpack almost everyday of the week, not incredibly intense but very frequently. It holds a large amount of material and weight comfortably. Incredibly spacious, I managed to pack a large raincoat into one of the water bottle spots. So far I love it!

Love using this bag. Replaced my 5.11 rush 24 pack and love how the size is similar but with the extension offers more of a 72 hour pack. Used it in school and hiking. Will probably get another for a grab bag for the truck.
