I was surprised at this hat's actual size -- the brims is very wide. It is also very floppy, which is not very convenient on windy days. However, there is a simple fix. I threaded a long piece of coated copper wire through the hem of the brim (no cutting required). Not only does the brim no longer flop around in the wind, I can shape it as desired.

Was looking for a wide brim boonie for the beach and outside activities. The days of the baseball cap are gone as I need coverage on ears, nose, face and neck. The hat fits very well and I love the top ventilated mesh so I don’t get that burning brain feeling at the beach. The chin strap holds the hat firm if it gets a bit too windy. Would definitely recommend this boonie.

As a person who is balding and burns easy I'm always looking for hats that offer more protection than average. Wide brim? Win. UV protection? Even better. Hard to go wrong when you get exactly what you want.

Quality of product is overt from the moment the parcel is opened. I appreciate: large size for big heads, easy in and off, significant vents, quality draw cord (some can be pretty pathetic but these are substantial). This brim is larger than what I traditionally think of when thinking of standard boogie hats. That will be your personal preference but I appreciate the extra more than I thought would matter. Now, I don’t see me going back to the lesser brimmed Boonies.

Quality product, but measure your head circumference before purchasing. It’s a little large. It should provide very good sun coverage with ventilation.

In the past I’ve still had to use sunblock with bookie hats. I’ve got one of those “Long” faces so a regular boonie don’t provide adequate coverage. This one is great and the mesh ventilated crown is a great improvement.
