This one of the best flashlights I have ever owned. There are many things I like about the light and I am going to try my best to cover them all, but in a short description. So let's start with the brightness it shoots about 120 lumens for about 15 to 30 min then it goes to 108 lumens and keeps that path for about 2 hours then has rapid decline. I like how blinding the light is towards people so if you're a cop this would be a great option. There is only two things I wish that they would have placed on here is one a weapons mount and two add the feature of strobe mode. You can make your own strobe mode by using the momentary on and do it like that. I do like how they have the button placed on the tail of the light, it makes it more ergonomic. I also like the design of the light, it looks really cool and it gives it that tactical look to it. Another thing I like is how lightweight it is, and the way they do that is by making the frame out of polymer and giving it an aluminum surrounding which then gives it strength. They way I would employ this light, is hiking, camping, Military, Law Enforcement, around the house, and just about anything you want this light can tackle it with no problem. This is probably one of the best lights you can get for the price. There are many accessories you can include tactical pouches that you can place them on, I have one for my MOLLE Vest. I don't like how it uses the odd and expensive battery CR123A but that's not a show stopper. I highly recommend this light to anybody that wants a good light that does just anything.

I own a lot of flashlights. Too many really. I only say that because it means I have some basis to say that the Streamlight Poly tac is every bit as good and probably better than my comparable Surefire lights. The Poly tac is a high quality light that is exceptionally bright. The LED is the best that I have seen. The light is white and even. The lumen output seems higher than lights I own that are rated with higher output. This is probably a function of the evenness of the beam and the color but it is very nice. Batteries last a long time, at least as long as the published spec. One of the nicest things about this flashlight is the build quality. All the switches work properly and are very "tight". The light comes across as durable and well made. This stands in contrast to the problems I have had with two of my Surefire lights both of which broke with little use. On each the switching mechanism failed. Each light had a different problem but for the price it shouldn't happen. What I am really saying is that the streamlight is a terrific value. I own another one of their flashlights and it too has worked beautifully. It is well made and functions perfectly. If you are on a budget and really even if you aren't the streamlight is a great choice. If I was going to buy another light like this I would definitely choose this rather than pay the thirty dollar premium for the Surefire.

4 Slugs and 27 target loads on a Mossberg 500 did this light in. The batteries measure 6.28v at the light, the switch measures good, yet no light output. I'm now searching for a replacement light assembly. and/or a different flashlight, period. This just failed today - Sunday. I'll give Streamlight a call tomorrow and post any additional comments that result. prior to failing - easy to use and great output!

I purchased this LED light a few weeks ago. I work for a police department and had the Surefire G2 LED on my issued rifle. I used it at the range and deployed on several other occasions. The light was great!! I purchased the Streamlight LED which is 120 lumens compared to the Surefire G2 which is only 80 lumens, I now have the Streamlight polytac on my rifle and love it. It's a lot brighter, same size as the G2 but half the prize, I highly recommend this light vs. the Surefire G2! I also own the Streamlight Stinger DS LED light. It is also a great light and also very bright.

I'm really at 4.5 stars for this light - the reason is that the body of the light is a little odd for mounting. Other than that it's a solid, VERY bright LED light. I know some are not happy with the 3-hour run-time. I feel that if you want the extra 40 lumens for a weapon mounted light, or simply for dazzling it's certainly worth it. This light lasts three times longer than an incandescent of the same brightness!
Easy to use, very much like the tailcap switch. Press for momentary on - click for steady on - a definite improvement over my Surefire G2s.

Light was very bright and seemed tough enough! However, the tailcap switch was very frustrating. It would stick in the depressed position and often not even activate when trying to use the light momentarily. Sent the light back, TacticalGear.com has been very accommodating!

I used the flashlight every night for about 15min a night for 6 nights. That's a total of about 1 1/2 hrs then the battery's went dead. The light was very bright for the first night then the next 5 days it was about half as bright. Then nothing. Now I have order a special battery.

100% the best flashlight I have ever owned. I put this light up against my uncle's 1,000,000 candle spot light and it was just as good as that light! You could not ask for a better light for just around the house, hunting, or any outdoor needs.

it's ok. there's a great light source. i was hoping for a strobe selection instead of momentary on. but overall it seems to be a good product.
