Designed for compact, high-power spot illumination, the Streamlight ProTac 2AA Professional Tactical light emits a piercing 250-lumen beam that easily can light up a room or alley. Featuring C4 LED technology for maximum illumination and Solid State power regulation for optimal runtimes, this small flashlight is much stronger than its size may suggest. Weighing in at just under 3.5 ounces, it utilizes the innovative Streamlight Ten-Tap Programmable Switch, which lets users rapidly select beam output levels with a few clicks. This model has a high-power 250 setting as well as a steady 18-lumen beam that can run for up to 36 hours on a single battery. The tempered glass lens is impact resistant and will not roll when set down. Its small size and compact design make this an ideal personal carry light, and the unbreakable pocket clip makes carrying it and stowing it convenient.

I decided I wanted to stray away from those cr123 batteries & buy a small flashlight that used AA batteries or AAA batteries. Since I already have 3 Streamlight flashlights & 2 headlamps; Streamlight is known by me for dependability. This is a bright flashlight with a glass lens for its size & does not need those expensive cr123 batteries. If you go camping or whatever; you can get AA batteries in almost any store. I have seen when I had to watch how much I used the flashlights that used the cr123 batteries. The strobe on this flashlight would confuse anyone shined close up in their eyes. The 3rd mode would be great for reading in the dark. It even comes with a black velcro holster to wear with you that clips to your pants or on a belt. I might add a lanyard to mine. (A small cord that is hooked to the flashlight & can wrap around your wrist.) Both ends on this flashlight have defensive bezels if needed for close self defense. Buy one & you'll be amazed with this amazing flashlight! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I have one of these mounted on a Mossberg 500 I keep for Home Defense and I loved the flexibility, the temporary-on w/o a switch click, and the light's output. So I bought one for my wife to keep in her car.
She was amazed at the light output for such a compact 2AA flashlight, and she was fascinated with the strobe function. We compared it to the MiniMag AA she had in her car and there was no comparison.
After just a minute or two of practice pressing the on/off button to sequence the light, she was using it like a pro.
Maybe a bit pricey for a AA flashlight - but well worth the money.

This Streamlight double AA flashlight is bright and reasonably priced compared to competitive models. I like that it is based on AA batteries which are easy to find at any store. It is made of aluminum and is reasonably rugged without taking the "tactical" thing to silly extremes. I expect it to work well on a daily basis for a long time. I own a couple of the Streamlight flashlights that use two AAA batteries and this one is several times as bright.

If you remove the clip the light will probably fit in many of the typical accessory pouches made for the Maglite Mini AA. It does have a wider diameter back end than the Maglite so you may not get it to fit on all holsters. I use a "NITE IZE Pock-Its" pouch now and this light only fits when the accessory clip is removed.

Only missing feature is a dedicated place to attach a lanyard. You could probably put the lanyard through the accessory clip but would risk it pulling free. There is a "strobe" function that turns on if you push the on button twice quickly. The protective lens over the LED and reflector seems to be glass and will resist scratches and yellowing better than the usual plastics. Enjoy.

This is a great light, takes aa batteries and indeed bright.Have not had opportunity to evaluate battery life yet,but am using lithium so should be lengthy. It,s got a great beam and spill. So far this is the brightest aa flashlight i have, and i have many, many lights. There are brighter flashlights but they are the one,s with those other type rechargeable batteries. This uses aa batteries, and is more than enough power for most uses.I also have the streamlight stylus pro,and this indeed is more powerful.Great light, great price.

This flashlight gives great illumination and is much cheaper to operate than my other flashlight that eats the expensive CR123 batteries. This light uses a set of 2 AA batteries a week, much better
I've had the flashlight about 3 weeks, my main issue is that this week, it started to shift between modes of operation, or doesn't stay on continuously when desired. I'm about to send it back, maybe it's got a defective switch. I don't need the strobe or low beam, just need the full on bright beam.

This is the best pen light I have purchased so far. The lumens are blinding. It will leave any friend or foe wishing they did not want a encounter with you! Also works very well as a inspection light. I carry this light with me every where I go when armed. Excellent light for any job!!

This is the second Streamlight ProTac 88033 light I've purchased. Someone liked the first one more than I did, thus, this purchase. The light is brighter than any light I've seen powered by two AA batteries. It arrived in a brand new, unopened package with two Energizer alkaline AA batteries. It was lower-priced than the one I bought in January, 2013.

Would recommend this product to anyone wanting a bright light in a small package. Lit up a huge part of our DOA scene as we were trying to gain entry into a house with The PD. This little light out shown the police officer's lights and our fire trucks hand held lights. Couldn't be happier.

Bought two of the ProTap 2AA lights and they worked fine. I only use them durning power loss at our home and have had them for about 2 and a half years. I changed the batteries and one of them stopped working. Couldn’t get it to work at all. This is the second one that had happened to me. So just to let the buyers know of this issue. Customer Support just wants you to ship it to a repair facility and it seems to me it’s a led issue. Cost wise , no response and asked about repair cost, no answer. They are really good lights and still am waiting for a response StreamLight.
